There are two types wallets. Hot Storage Wallets and Cold Storage Wallets.

Cold Wallets are always preferred over Hot Wallets because in Hot Wallets your Public and Private keys are with the exchange companies and you might not even get the access to your Private Key.

The best and safe place to keep your Bitcoins would be Cold Wallets.
