It started out when i was a kid and they would only last a few seconds because i got too excited and tried to bend reality too quickly and rapidly.
I realized that if you want it to last, you have to take it really slow and try not to alter things too fast as your brain will pick this up and wake you up.
My first ever lucid dream as a child was when i realized i was in a dream by catching an imperfection in my kitchen. It was a really small detail that i was used to seeing in the kitchen but it didn’t look right. I contemplated how i even got into the kitchen, i didn’t remember even walking in. I realized it was a dream. The sink was overflowing with water and that made me think of a pool. The sink became bigger and morphed into a pool. The kitchen sunk away and i was now in an open field, sitting on a tree branch right above the pool. I couldn’t believe what just happened. I went crazy with overthinking which made me wake up. I wanted to do so much more. That was how i discovered lucid dreaming.
The dreams after that, once they turned to lucid dreams, i woke up soon after.
This is when i realized that you have to keep it a secret from your brain that you know your dreaming by staying calm and doing things as usual. That is, don’t start “folding cities in half” immediately you realize it’s a dream. Stay really calm. Take your time and settle down your initial excitement. This is the key to a long lucid dream.
Once you’ve done this, you can begin to slowly introduce elements. Make the introductions so minuscule/small that your brain won’t even notice. A good one i do is slowly upgrading furniture in the room (or wherever you’ll be when you discover you’re dreaming). Very small details like moving and changing the position of some items in the room.
This will let your brain slowly get used to creating and changing things in the dream. I go from individual pieces of furniture to sets of furniture and eventually to whole rooms. I do it really slowly to make sure my brain doesn’t catch on.
Another secret for once you are able to morph whole rooms is that you shouldn't be able to see the morphing happen. Please don’t morph the whole room while looking. This would be too risky as your brain will catch that it’s too unbelievable and wake you up.
What I do is pre-build the room behind a closed door. For the single items of furniture you can look at them but for the whole rooms you shouldn’t be able to see it changing. Let me explain how i do it.
Where are you once you realize you are dreaming? Change minute details of some furniture or things in the room to be sure you are dreaming and slowly get used to changing things. For example: their position in that room, their colour, their material. Make sure it’s a dream then get out of that room and close the door. Put your hand on the knob/handle like you’re just about to open it and think of a general theme. Something very general like “Expensive hotel room” -That’s one i like to use. Then open the door imagining that what you just thought of will be on the other side. Viola! It’s the expensive looking hotel room. You can go in and inspect the room if you want to or if you’re too excited and need to calm down again. This is key if you want longevity. Your brain didn’t see any radical transformations as it all happened behind a closed door. Relax and cool down. Get out of the room and close the door behind you. I suggest walking to a different door before trying again.
If you use the same door multiple times your brain will catch up really quick and you’ll wake up. If there are no other doors around you could risk things and think up a new location with more doors but that’s a sure to wake yourself up. Work within the limits of the dream. Don’t change the setting. Look for another door.
Place your hand on the handle as if you’re just about to open it while thinking about what you want to see on the other side. Keep it general, don’t ponder on specifics too much. e.g: hotel bathroom- one i use as well. Open the door and there it is. Don’t worry that these locations are boring and normal at first. That’s the point, to keep things normal at first. Once you have the swing of things and aren’t too excited as you have seen it happen a lot already, you can try all sorts of locations to open the door to.
Make sure to keep switching doors. If you start repeating the doors you’ve been to, you’re done, you’ll wake up. Something i’ve noticed is that you may get excited and start imagining really crazy things and places. When you do, take some time to cool down in between and stay calm. If need be just take a break to cool off. You may also want to just open a door without thinking of anything from time to time. It may feel like you’re wasting a perfectly good door but it’s so that you’re not constantly changing things and to also trick you’re brain into thinking that whatever is behind the door is normal and it will apply to the ones you change as well.
These are some of the things i did when i was a kid to kind of get a control of my lucid dreams. They worked for me. Hope they do you some good as well. Good luck and message me for more tips if you want.

1. Cancel Your Car Insurance
You might not even realize it, but your car insurance company is probably overcharging you. In fact, they’re kind of counting on you not noticing. Luckily, this problem is easy to fix.
Don’t waste your time browsing insurance sites for a better deal. A company called Insurify shows you all your options at once — people who do this save up to $996 per year.
If you tell them a bit about yourself and your vehicle, they’ll send you personalized quotes so you can compare them and find the best one for you.
Tired of overpaying for car insurance? It takes just five minutes to compare your options with Insurify and see how much you could save on car insurance.
2. You Can Become a Real Estate Investor for as Little as $10
Take a look at some of the world’s wealthiest people. What do they have in common? Many invest in large private real estate deals. And here’s the thing: There’s no reason you can’t, too — for as little as $10.
An investment called the Fundrise Flagship Fund lets you get started in the world of real estate by giving you access to a low-cost, diversified portfolio of private real estate. The best part? You don’t have to be the landlord. The Flagship Fund does all the heavy lifting.
With an initial investment as low as $10, your money will be invested in the Fund, which already owns more than $1 billion worth of real estate around the country, from apartment complexes to the thriving housing rental market to larger last-mile e-commerce logistics centers.
Want to invest more? Many investors choose to invest $1,000 or more. This is a Fund that can fit any type of investor’s needs. Once invested, you can track your performance from your phone and watch as properties are acquired, improved, and operated. As properties generate cash flow, you could earn money through quarterly dividend payments. And over time, you could earn money off the potential appreciation of the properties.
So if you want to get started in the world of real-estate investing, it takes just a few minutes to sign up and create an account with the Fundrise Flagship Fund.
This is a paid advertisement. Carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses of the Fundrise Real Estate Fund before investing. This and other information can be found in the Fund’s prospectus. Read them carefully before investing.
3. Ask This Company to Get a Big Chunk of Your Debt Forgiven
A company called National Debt Relief could convince your lenders to simply get rid of a big chunk of what you owe. No bankruptcy, no loans — you don’t even need to have good credit.
If you owe at least $10,000 in unsecured debt (credit card debt, personal loans, medical bills, etc.), National Debt Relief’s experts will build you a monthly payment plan. As your payments add up, they negotiate with your creditors to reduce the amount you owe. You then pay off the rest in a lump sum.
On average, you could become debt-free within 24 to 48 months. It takes less than a minute to sign up and see how much debt you could get rid of.
4. Stop Paying Your Credit Card Company
If you have credit card debt, you know. The anxiety, the interest rates, the fear you’re never going to escape… but a website called AmONE wants to help.
If you owe your credit card companies $100,000 or less, AmONE will match you with a low-interest loan you can use to pay off every single one of your balances.
The benefit? You’ll be left with one bill to pay each month. And because personal loans have lower interest rates (AmONE rates start at 6.40% APR), you’ll get out of debt that much faster.
It takes less than a minute and just 10 questions to see what loans you qualify for.
5. Earn Up to $50 this Month By Answering Survey Questions About the News — It’s Anonymous
The news is a heated subject these days. It’s hard not to have an opinion on it.
Good news: A website called YouGov will pay you up to $50 or more this month just to answer survey questions about politics, the economy, and other hot news topics.
Plus, it’s totally anonymous, so no one will judge you for that hot take.
When you take a quick survey (some are less than three minutes), you’ll earn points you can exchange for up to $50 in cash or gift cards to places like Walmart and Amazon. Plus, Penny Hoarder readers will get an extra 500 points for registering and another 1,000 points after completing their first survey.
It takes just a few minutes to sign up and take your first survey, and you’ll receive your points immediately.

I knew I was dreaming, and I had complete control over myself. I had lucid dreamed before so from experience I knew I could fly. I took off and flew around this very detailed garden. I looked in great depth at the head of a sunflower to see what would happen when I looked in detail - it was amazing. Then I looked at my hand, because I had heard that hands never look 'right' in dreams. The fingers came out as normal, but then each would split in two, and those would split, and so on. It was like a fractal hand. Absolutely amazing.
Then I flew very low along a beach, and some sort of angel's voice was singing to me, in my head or behind my ears. It felt SO wonderful.
Eventually it did stop and I could feel myself waking up, and the ground etc became less 'beautiful' and more normal. Then I woke up.
I'll never forget that.
I still get them, but haven't had one as intense as that in a while.
Controlling yourself in a dreamworld is absolutely amazing. I suggest everyone reads about how to achieve it.
I heard about lucid dreaming once, it looked awesome and instantly I wanted to access this new level of dreaming. I read things on how to do it, like looking at something constantly so when you look at it in your dream you could become aware you're dreaming. I did this for months and never lucid dreamed. So I gave up. Days later a close friend of mine had committed suicide. I was torn apart and missed him greatly. The night of his funeral I went to sleep and I saw him. So I gave up. Days later a close friend of mine had committed suicide. I was torn apart and missed him greatly. The night of his funeral I went to sleep and I saw him. We were talking and just having a good time like we used to. We were at the mall looking at clothes, when for some reason I just became aware. I was in control now (kinda). I can't explain the feeling of knowing you're in a dream but to me, it was awful. I felt trapped in my dream. I looked at my dear friend and started internally screaming (only way I can describe it) I yelled “NO, wake up wake up wake up” and my friend looked at me disappointingly, as if I had insulted him by wanting to leave this place. I didnt want to see my friend, he was gone and having dreams where I talk to him will never let me cope with the fact that he was gone. So, I broke free of my chains that locked me to this dream and I awoke screaming. I never wanted to lucid dream again.
Of course I did again. Although this one was much less eventful. I was walking in a park alone, when out of the blue I became aware I was dreaming. I was terrified but intrigued. I began running around and I jumped in the air. I jumped and never came down, I just kept going up and up until I reached space. I just kept going and going until again I had to force myself to wake up. I woke up crying and in a cold sweat.
So I dont recommend lucid dreaming. For one, you can't control anything, at least I couldn't. And two, its just scary and gives you, what is suppose to be rest, a tail of events that make you scared to sleep.
Almost every single dream I have is lucid.
I’m completely serious. Here’s a normal night for me.
The dream starts…
I decide what superpower I want to have this time. It’s usually flying, but I also like telekinesis and fire-bending.
If the dream is a nightmare, I often turn to fight whatever it is that’s attacking me—usually by flying, telekinesis or fire-bending. I almost always win, though occasionally the bad guys just won’t stay down and it gets very frustrating knocking them out over and over again.

If the dream is not a nightmare, I use it to entertain myself, usually diving off of high places so I can fly (trying to gain flying momentum straight from the ground hardly ever works).
The only problem with having so many lucid is that they leak into reality. To this day, I stay away from high places because part of me thinks that I really can fly. Telekinesis moments happen too, when I want something that is out of reach, or I need something to move out of my way, I have a split second urge to just shove it with my mind.
Lucid dreaming is fun when you’re asleep, but in real life, when there’s isn’t much you can control, it can be somewhat disappointing.

Everyone can learn to have lucid dreams. With enough diligence you can learn to seamlessly go from an alert, wakeful state, to a mind-awake-body-asleep, lucid state, using a technique called WILD (Waking Induction of Lucid Dreams). It’s not difficult, but it takes a lot of patience & practice.
The WILD Technique teaches you how to allow your body to fall asleep while keeping your mind awake. As you allow your body to deeply relax, you’ll began to feel a gentle vibration. The WILD Technique teaches you how to allow your body to fall asleep while keeping your mind awake. As you allow your body to deeply relax, you’ll began to feel a gentle vibration. It helped me to imagine I could feel the vibration of every atom in my body. Once you become aware of the vibration, you might hear either a buzzing or ringing sound. For me, it was buzzing. The buzzing & vibration will increase in intensity as you begin to feel loose & weightless in your body. At this point, some people get anxious, and their anxiety wakes them up.
Once you get past the fear of being only your awareness without feeling your physical body, you’re ready to launch into a lucid dream. At this point you may feel as if you’ve popped out of your body and are floating up toward the ceiling. You may find yourself floating in a grey void. When this happens, again, some people get nervous and wake up. It took me several more months to get past this point.
Once you’ve moved beyond that fear, you can create whatever dreamscape you can imagine. I would usually fly over beautiful landscapes or seascapes. One time I flew over Puget Sound, touching the water with my fingertips.
I’ve read you can also speak with whomever you choose, dead or alive.
SIDE NOTE: Some people believe using the WILD Technique can induce an out of body experience (OBE). However, except for the launch period, I’ve never felt a difference in the dream experience of using the WILD technique or accidentally becoming lucid in the middle of an average dream. Either all lucid dreams are OBEs, or all OBEs are lucid dreams, or I just can’t tell the difference.
Here’s a tutorial on using the WILD Technique:
Wake Induced Lucid Dreaming: The Most Effective WILD Tutorial
If “mind-awake-body-asleep” isn’t your thing, you can also train yourself to become lucid in the middle of your dreams by using reality checks while you’re awake throughout the day. Every hour or so, stop and ask yourself, “Am I dreaming?” Pinch yourself, touch things, jump up and try to fly (don’t jump off anything and hurt yourself!). Do this reality check over & over, and eventually that behavior will work its way into your dreamstate. Once you can ask yourself if you’re dreaming while in the dreamstate, then if you jump up and try to fly, you will.
How to Use Reality Checks to Have Lucid Dreams
But, if you really want to have lucid dreams, the most important first step is to keep a dream journal and learn to personally interpret your own dreams. Write down your dreams every morning, and if you don’t remember your dreams, then write in your journal, “I can’t remember my dreams this morning, but I’m feeling (______________), so perhaps my dreams had something to do with this feeling). Sometimes your dream will come to you later in the day. The more you use your dream journal, the better your dream recall will be.
ANOTHER SIDE NOTE: No one but you can tell you what your dreams mean. Although there are some interesting universal dream symbols, IMHO, most dream dictionaries are pretty much useless. Only you know what a cigar means to you. Once you’ve learned the language of your subconscious mind, you can ask your dream director interesting questions, and then have dreams with fascinating answers.
The best book I’ve read on learning to journal & interpret your dreams is: Living Your Dreams: The Classic Bestseller on Becoming Your Own Dream Expert: Gayle M. Delaney: 9780062514462: Amazon.com: Books
It was after reading the techniques in Gayle Delaney’s book that all the other interesting dream experiences began spontaneously happening to me.

The second was a lot more normal. Well, as normal as a Lucid dream can be. I was walking down a street I've walked a thousand times. Nothing was out of the ordinary. “People” were going about their business when suddenly a thought came to me. Can I fly right now?
It was so random and unexpected that I physically stopped walking. But there was no curious glances from random people. No acknowledgement of anything happening. It's like I wasn't even there. So I tried. I focused and did something. But all of a sudden I did it. I started floating. I rise above the oblivious masses and started flying around.
I did some…morally questionable things in my head. I won't go into detail but I broke some imaginary hearts. And bones. It was honestly the most fun I've had in my head. But then a strange thing happened. I was getting woken up. My imaginary world was shaking. The people were vanishing. It was like a glitching video game. I think it was my brother, but I don't know exactly. I was so angry at them but they eventually gave up. And like magic, my world was restored. The people returned. It was wonderful.
Things were so much simpler in there. I was just having fun, messing around. I'd say that that version on my town was my paradise. My playground.
I want to go back there some day.
My very first lucid dream:
I was swimming in a very deep lake. I started to sink, yet I was aware that I could breathe. It was very strange. I tried to move but, of course, I couldn’t. So I just let myself sink. I was thinking the entire time that I was going to drown in the dream. But I didn’t. At my right, I saw a huge catfish swim by. when I got to the bottom, I lied down on the bottom of the lake. I didn’t try to move, and I soon woke up.
It was WEIRD.
EDIT: OMG thanks guys for the 69 upvotes!!!! I've never had so many in my life!!!!!

It’s good to be on medication that makes me sane and normal but I miss seeing my alien friends. I miss laying down to go to sleep being excited to see what my dreams had in store for me that night.

Once I realize I'm dreaming I determine whether I want to continue the dream or take control. Taking control usually ends in ruining the dream, which is not always a bad thing.

I experience this as a natural way to store it in a dream related compartment within my memory, which makes it easier to access from within the dream.
Whether any of this is actually helpfull for others, I leave up to you all.
Quick tips:
- When you first realize you are awake, keep your eyes closed and try to stay in your last dream.
- Recalling a dream and trying to remember as much as possible is helpful when trying to achieve lucid dreams.
- Try to imagine something before you actually fall asleep. Like a room or a garden or an object. The more you shape it with your mind, the more experienced you will be with staying asleep and taking control of a dream.
Good night and pleasant dreams.
You know what…I used to lucid dream and on occasion I still do , but I'm not really sure how I got there.
I think it had to do with really thinking hard about doing it as I fell asleep. Plus I used to do a lot of reading about dreams , about relaxation methods and by practicing meditation. Probably the meditation was the most helpful , because it aquatints yourself with the esoteric world .

For me though , I had a specific need to dream lucidly. I was having really terrifying dreams and it caused me to wake up more tired than I was when I went to bed. I was also having anxiety and other things like sleep apnea , so I pushed myself to have lucid dreams
. Then I finally started having them. Not every night , but often enough to be able to convince myself that what I was experiencing was just a dream. And to this day , if my dreams start to take a turn towards the dark side , I will suddenly start dreaming lucidly, if only enough to reassure myself that I'm dreaming.
My best suggestion to give you is to try to do meditation and go get some books on lucid dreaming and on relaxing methods. That should help you to have your first lucid dream.
There was a period of time when I fairly often ended up in the same "place" in dreams. There was a sense of geography, like that the last dream happened right over there, and, oh, I've been here before, etc. After a couple of times of that, I realized that it was a dream. I could recognize that aspects of the landscape were like places I've known while awake, but put together in a different way.

Knowing that I was in a dream gave me more choices. I couldn't, or didn't try to, change the geography, but I could choose where to go. The place was really crowded. Lots of cars, lots of houses, tons of cables and antennas and stuff. Lots of people. Felt a bit like the Brazil movie.
Despite that I had options and that I could think about it, the place was rather confusing. I usually was tired and had the strong urge to find a bed to sleep in. There were a couple of houses I knew, because I had been there before in previous dreams, and I considered them mine. Each one had a strange arrangement of rooms, and it was night and quite dark. The trouble was that whenever I got to where I knew the beds were, somebody else was already sleeping in them. The place was really crowded, you know.
My lucid state didn't go as far as thinking that maybe I could change stuff. It felt so much like a real place that I didn't consider it.
I was 16 yrs old. My 20 yr old girlfriend was talking about getting an apartment, and moving in together. My brain freaked. The year was 1967. What jobs were available to a 16 yr old, that could help pay rent and other expenses?

I was an executive assistant for a clothing distributor, an assistant accountant, a taxi driver, a commercial fisherman, and a salvage worker. Each morning, upon awaking, I felt as I’ve actually lived each life. As a result, I knew, that I would never do any of them.
Our affair lasted 3 months. We never lived together. Afterwards, I was desperate to be taken seriously, and to be treated as an adult. Soon, after my 18 birthday, I enlisted in the navy. It wasn’t a complete nightmare, just a really long bad dream.

One time in a lucid, near-waking state I became aware I was sleeping, and so I thought to myself, "Can I write a whole page of coherent text in a split second?"
And in a second I saw a hand-written piece of paper filled with words!
So I read it in my dream as fast as I could and my imagination kept up! The words I was reading didn't stop flowing until I woke up.
My favorite lucid dreaming activity is flying. Whenever I become lucid while dreaming, I bend my knees, push off the ground, and swing my arms up above my head to launch my body into the air. There is no experience as exhilarating as defying gravity and no freedom greater than propelling yourself through the air with solely your body and mind. Not only is this a unique and exciting feeling, but also an opportunity to see sights you've never seen from a perspective unlike any other. I highly recommend experimenting with flying if you haven't already. It's incredible.

Not only is this a unique and exciting feeling, but also an opportunity to see sights you've never seen from a perspective unlike any other. I highly recommend experimenting with flying if you haven't already. It's incredible.
Although I have had the pleasure of flying while dreaming on several occasions, it is difficult to avoid becoming too excited to the point of awakening. Because activities like flying are impossible in the waking world, it is common to exceed dreaming lucidity and awaken completely from overexcitement. Whenever I am on the verge of waking up while lucid dreaming I beginning spinning to keep myself asleep and dreaming.
I have also used lucid dreaming as an opportunity to escape nightmares. My first experience with this happened at age 5 when I had a nightmare about dinosaurs chasing me around my house. For the first time, I suddenly became lucid and aware that I had complete control over my dreamworld. To make the dinosaurs less intimidating, I dressed them in party hats and invited them to have lunch with me, turning a bad dream into a more enjoyable experience. Now, years later, a recurring theme in my less pleasant dreams is blindness. Because a lack of vision is a common experience in my dreams, the condition now serves as a reality check that leads to lucidity. Because I have normal vision while awake, blindness serves as an indication that I am dreaming. Once I am aware that I am dreaming, I am able to either regain sight or wake myself up.
Because what you experience while lucid dreaming is ultimately your decision, I recommend:
1. Flying
2. Improving dream conditions--whether that means escaping nightmarish situations or simply altering characters or settings
3. Trying something you cannot experience while awake
4. Confronting fears--this can help you conquer them in real life
5. Meeting with celebrities, heroes, deceased loved ones, or fictional characters
6. Traveling to places you've never visited--real or imaginary
In theory "looking" for things in your dream sounds good, but in reality a normal dream sort of "takes you where it wants to take you" without you having any free will.
By saying "look for a clock", or "look at your hands" is implying a sense of free will to actually be able to do that while dreaming. If your mind were in a state for you to be able to tell yourself to "look for a clock and see if its moving backwards", you would already be lucid.
I have been lucid dreaming for 10 years.
Here's how I do it, and how I have taught many friends to do it:

I have been lucid dreaming for 10 years.
Here's how I do it, and how I have taught many friends to do it:
1. REALITY CHECKS -- Look around and ask yourself "am I dreaming" a few times a day while you are awake. This is known as a reality check. The idea behind it is that if you get into the habit of doing this while you are awake, you may do it while you're dreaming.
2. DREAM MEMORY -- When you wake up in the morning, keep your eyes closed, and your head on the pillow for a minute or two. Try to remember everything you can about the dreams you had that night. Then - WHILE YOUR EYES ARE STILL CLOSED. - grab the pen & paper you have placed directly next to your bed
Open your eyes and immediately write down everything you remember.
** Its important that you go straight from eyes closed to writing, because everything unrelated that your eyes see will distract, distort, and make you forget some of the stuff you remembered.
3. HAVE A PLAN -- Decide beforehand what you are going to DO when you wake up inside the dream. Lucid dreaming is all about not waking up when you realize you're dreaming (as this is the mind's natural reaction). When you become lucid, and you don't have a plan of what you want to do, your mind can start racing and this can cause you to wake up.
For example, when I started studying and practicing lucid dreaming, the first thing I wanted to do was fly, and that's all I tried to do. So the first time I went lucid, it was super easy not to wake up because I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I just started running and then literally just took off into the air flying.
And most importantly...
4. STAY CALM -- The first time you realize you are dreaming, its going to be very exciting. I mean, for the first time ever you are waking up into a world where you can literally do whatever you want. This is an emotional jolt, and can ultimately cause you to wake up if you get too excited.
For the first few you will likely feel the dream "slipping away" at times, and you'll need to work to bring yourself back into it. Once you get the hang of it though...
Get ready for the ride of your life! =)
Hello everyone,

The fun part comes here : 2 lucid dreams 2 days in a row
1st day-1st lucid dream - age 25: time: between 8.30 to 9 am, 2016
I am sleeping on my bed in a rented flat, i woke up and I am seeing my boyfriend standing on the door of my room. I asked him what you doing here..he starts walking towards me with a busy expression on his face and suddenly he turned into my owner lady and then i am feeling so scared and panicked and i realised the same moment that it is not real i am awake in my dream.
The moment i realised this i tried moving myself my hand very hard, i am trying to open my eyes, i literally telling myself - - wake up farheen(my name) please wake up. How much hard i am trying its not working and i got up with my alarm around 9.30 am. I was exhausted and sweating and i saw myself on the same place and looking here and there like i was trying to figure out if its still a dream or i am actually in my room. That was hell of confusion and scaring part for me. As i was alone and i can not make out if i am awake or not. This feeling is extraordinary that i can't describe in words.
So this was my first lucid dream. After this i searched a lot about the feelings that i experienced and i came to know about the word “Lucid dreams”
That weird feeling was so strong that it forced me to do a little research on it.
I also came to know that its easy if we dont panic and try to control the situation happening with us. Once we find out that its again dream and you know it you dont panic and try to control it, give instructions. I felt like a big change in me after seeing all this information i felt like my dream in the morning is lucid dream and i i am able to control it.. It was like a wowwwww for me. My fear changed to excitement and happiness but somewhere inside I was afraid of the feeling of not able to get up to reality. I was afraid about its not being easy to end the dream and get up.
So without any other thoughts of repeating it intentionally, it happened again the very next day. And it goes like this:
2nd Lucid dream :day 2 - same time, same position, same room same bed everything is same
I wasn't hoping it would happen again with me. But i was a little prepared this time. But still I wasn't happy though.. That fear of not able to awake was there in my heart.
Here it goes like this:
I woke up in my dream and i know this time very well that i am Lucid dreaming (because of last night research).
Everything is same, i am lying down on my bed with my eyes open i am seeing mt boy friend coming inside and he sat down near me. I am looking at him i am aking him who are you.
Who I am - he said. (with a little smile)
I remembered my research about lucid dream so i tried to change my dream this time. Before je turns into some one else suddenly i asked him what is there you are hiding at your back.
He said- “how do you know? I have got flowers for you.”
Here comes my red roses bouquet fresh.. And then i become more creative :) and reaxed.. I asked him - “aren't you going to give me those chocolates also? ”
Then he gave me big chocolate… Woowww..
I gained confidence.. I felt like it happening according to my wishes. My instructions.
Suddenly i thought why don't i go to my home with my family.
I suddenly reached in my home. My family members are around me and they are busy in their own works. I was looking to my home all around and enjoying that feeling.
I wanted more.. I told myself - i wanna fly
And believe me that was awesome. Suddenly i started flying like a bird and i was fying above my child hood guava tree seeing every thing from up was ssoooo exiting and the feeling of flying was out of world. I was damnnn happy happy happy.. Then i woke up by my alarm around 10 am.
After all of this i was sooo excited that i told everything to my boyfriend and he wasn't taking it seriously. I told my friends amd family but nobody understood the difference of these dreams.
But i know it was different. Unfortunately my lucid dreams stopped after only 2 dreams.
But i still feel happy about them and feel that thrill and excitement and fun remembering them. And now one of those people who experienced lucid dreams. I hope to experience them again really.. Its just out of world.

Go to bold for some dreams, or continue reading for some background and context.
Nearly every dream I have I'm aware that I'm dreaming, I almost always remember them. I'm able to push myself into a dream as soon as I rest my head, I know when I'm leaving that dream and waking up so I try and play it off as I'm not dreaming so I can get back to sleep.
Therefore since I nearly am always aware of my state of subconscious I am able to choose to lucid dream or not. Sought of like focusing at two different distances simultaneously. Most of my dreams repeat as I need to “finish the mission" in my dream

Therefore since I nearly am always aware of my state of subconscious I am able to choose to lucid dream or not. Sought of like focusing at two different distances simultaneously. Most of my dreams repeat as I need to “finish the mission" in my dream, so I know I'm dreaming in that way. In my reality and honest opinion, lucid dreaming sucks.
Being able to lucid dream at will and have it always in the back of my mind makes me semi awake, I rarely get into a deep dream state.
I would prefer to let my subconscious unravel a set of randomness in my dreams, like a mission that I have to complete, I'm focused on the dreams reality rather than mine. I need a break from my reality, something surrealist.
However sometimes I do like having this ability, such as a nightmare. Especially when I'm in a nightmare. When I'm getting chased by a pack of wolves, I can tell myself “stuff this, give me superpowers" and I run away faster than Usain Bolt. When I'm trapped and a large ominous creature is coming towards me I can teleport myself to another country or planet if I so desire. Once I'm safe from what could of been my unfathomable demise, I celebrate with a kiss from the best looking person my mind can create.
- When I was younger I had just left this zoo, weird zoo too it was like an indoor pool but it was floor to ceiling of water, and it was a zoo/museum of water pretty much, but that's not the point. The point was I couldn't get in, it was open but you know you can't push a door with water behind it. So around the building was some traffic jams, people were angry, makes sense. I got in my parents car waiting patiently when all of a sudden a zombie started walking up to my door. I was screaming and telling mum to help me. Oh sure she said, he just wants a hug. Keep in mind I hate hugs. So I told myself “stuff this" and turned myself into a red dragon and burned down the whole town like Drogon.
- Ran through the town naked, cause why not?
- Jumped from the tops of trees as I watched people walk in the park and the best sunset I've ever seen
- Robbed houses (plural)
- Flew to multiple planets
- Told my worst enemy what I want to say
- Turned into the incredible hulk when I saw my worst enemy
- Changed the odds in a zombie apocalypse
I try to write them all down, but a lot of them are extremely long…
Sweet dreams
It was, and is incredible!!! When someone dreams a lucid dream, the dream is much different than a wacky stupid normal dream. I believe that when one has lucid dreams, they are actually moved somehow into different dimension where time has no meaning. In lucid dreaming, I remember every single detail. The faces of the people, the conversations, the clothing, the personalities, the mountains, the fields, the sunshine, the snow, the clouds, the food, EVERYTHING!!! The people especially. In my lucid dreams, the people are wonderful, they are happy to see me, and I am happy to see them! Old family

In my lucid dreams, the people are wonderful, they are happy to see me, and I am happy to see them! Old family friends are suddenly there and talking with me, and we are just having a good ol’e time! I know that there are people out there that cannot dream lucidly. For me, it is second nature. Bear in mind that I am a Cancer, born in July. Cancers are the most psychic of all by far! I am also autistic! I was able to come out of my shell when I joined the United States Marine Corps. One day my VA doctor did a little thing with my eyes and he told me that when I need to, I can just go anywhere I want. It doesn’t work when I want it too, just when I need to! When something comes along like when my wife died, I could go anywhere I wanted in my sleep. My Grandpa came and got me and we would go all over the place, crossing rivers and hiking up in the mountains in the Springtime. I would hug him when the time came and I would wake up just laughing my ass off. My brother who died would come and get me, and we would go lift weights together like we used to, he even got angry with me once for doing something stupid. He told me to knock it off or else! I consider myself lucky, and I am very grateful that I was able to do this. Since I developed MS it has stopped for a while. I wonder if it will ever come back?
I’ve had many lucid dreams. I usually start with a dream check. I count my fingers fast, 1,2,3,4 and before I get to 5 there are new fingers sprouting out the side of my hand. As soon as I stop counting my hand returns to normal. Dream check confirmed!
In a typical lucid dream I am in some sort of difficult situation and when I realize I am dreaming I take control of the situation and start flying around. My fears are gone and I am enjoying the sensation of flying. I can actually feel the wind and it seems so real.

In other situations when I realize I am in a dream I try learning new skills - like walking through walls. It’s really hard to walk through walls when you see it there in front of you. I have found that it is easy to walk through walls if you turn your back to it and walk backwards. There is a little ‘pop’ when you pass through the wall.
In some lucid dreams I am trying to tell the other people in the dream that they are in my dream. They never seem to believe me. Everyone except me acts like its real.
The best lucid dreams are where I am seeking enlightenment, like what is the meaning of life. There are dreams where Jesus Christ appears and grants some sorts of knowledge. For instance, I’ll ask Jesus “what about denominations?” He answers with “I never noticed”. Then he looks at me and sees my heart, and I realize it wasn’t the denomination that Jesus cared about.
At another time I am asking the people around me, “what is the meaning of life?” People are ignoring my question until one person, in frustration, turns around and says, “just live!” Another time I was asking the people in the dream, “what am I supposed to accomplish with my life?’ No one seemed to help until I was led to an old man who simply told me, I am supposed to experience three trials in my life. At first my reaction was to thank the old man and look forward to a long life ahead. A few seconds later I realized that throughout my entire life I have struggled with the same three trials. (I will not disclose what they are here.)
I can remember one time I felt I was truly having a lucid dream.
Here I was standing in an old shack somewhere in some forest looking down on an old wooden chair, dramatically lit by a waning, flickery old lightbulb hung from the ceiling above.
There was this moment where I felt faintly present and then awake, but the dream world around me... persisted. I remember thinking there was something absurd or artificial about the situation and place I was in; how did I get here, why would I even come here? Questions like that began to tip me off.
I remember the excitement of realizing I was lucid dream

I remember the excitement of realizing I was lucid dreaming, and trying not to scare the experience away with my enthusiasm.
What now, I thought. I tested the laws of physics by manipulating the chair in various ways. It's amazing how the mind can reproduce a simulation of observed reality.
The last thing I remember is flinging the chair at a window in lawless reverie. I woke right as the glass shattered.

Deepak Gupta's answer to How do I lucid dream?
Having read the answers and little bit googling, I made it a point to be 'aware' of my reality around. That I was not dreaming. To do this I used to pinch myself to check (too conventional.)My resources suggested the use of a totem to check the reality. But I went on with the pinching technique instead. I kept doing this for few weeks, but later dropped as my priorities shifted. But every now and then I used to pinch myself whenever I think something was too real to happen.
One day I was sitting in the couch reading (I don't remember what), when my mom came to me with a packet containing a smart phone that I always wanted. Naturally I was excited, and wanted to unpack it and get a good look of it. And I was shocked for a moment. As I was unpacking I pinched myself, and to my surprise it didn't pained. And the next moment I opened my eyes and found myself in my bed. I managed to keep my eyes open some more time. I pinched my hands, there was little paining sensation, but I wasn't sure whether I was dreaming or not. I thought about what happened for a moment, just to reinforce it, so that I don't forget.(and I think I was successful ). But I was too sleepy and continued my sleeping but this time it was a different dream. I wasn't holding anything or reading as far I can remember.
When I woke up I could remember my Lucid dreaming experience, especially my reality check. But not what happened before or after that. I was feeling great and convinced that people could actually lucid dream.
Now I am working more on this.

I saw our old home, with whole family. Talking and complaining over issues. It was dark analogous to our graves as if post martal . Protagonist was my sister-in-law yellowing at our mother. Then i saw my brother and my, roaming community school yard, amazing snowfall, space travel glitches. I saw people dancing, some miniature trains, swimming creatures, some murder riots. At the end i heard a voice saying all my queries in an old scripture of hindu descent name “ biyutina riskha “ for me to explore and find the answer to my queries.
It was such an awesome experience. I'm looking forward to experiment and feel it again. One more thing I saw my grandma, long gone about 10 years ago. I saw I was massaging her arms with cold cream.
So far as I know, there is no reliable method of “learning” to dream lucidly. Some people seem to be able to do this naturally, and most do not.
Last I saw, perhaps 25–30% of the population experiences lucid dreaming, at least occasionally.
For those looking for a definition, lucid dreaming is not just having particularly vivid dreams.
Rather, it’s the phenomena where the person knows that they are dreaming, and can to some extent control the dream.
There are people who claim to have methods to learn this…. Folks are welcome to give them a try.
That’s easy.
Lucid clearly expressed, easily understood.

When he wakes up, Gabriel is laying on a Psychiatrist’s couch and a State Farm Agent is playing the role of the Psychiatrist. He tells Gabe that the clear meaning of his “dream/commercial“ is that he can save on his home & auto by switching to State Farm. Which sets up the closing joke as Gabe denies what the “dream/commercial” is making clear. He says, “That’s a weird interpretation!”
The humor of that commercial is in that dreams generally aren’t clear in what they mean. But males have a distinct genetic advantage in this area.
We experience something, starting in puberty, known as a Nocturnal Emission. What’s that? It’s an erotic dream that results in an involuntary ejaculation. It’s informally known as a Wet Dream. And the meaning is even more lucid than the State Farm Commercial. I recall dreaming that I got my way & did everything I desired with a classmate & what did it mean? (No, it didn’t mean that I was able to pay for her services with my State Farm discount!!!)
It simply meant that I was attracted to her in an erotic manner. What could be more lucid than that?
Yes I have had it.
And let me tell you; this has the potential to change your life.
Let’s first define it if someone doesn’t know.
“Lucid dreaming is the ability to realize in your dream that you are in a dream. Thereafter, you take control of that dream and do whatever you want.”
As I finished watching Inception (2010 movie), I was in a state of shock. I wanted to jump and scream. I wanted to run and kiss Christopher Nolan (director), who presented it in such an exemplary way. I just couldn’t control my overwhelming emotions that time and the growling in my stomach. I always knew it was possible to become aware in your dream.
I remember when I was 4, I once had a lucid dream without any effort on my part. It was amazing. I jumped off the roof knowing I wouldn’t die. I played with my friends all the games I liked. I enjoyed a lot.
But, that was just once. And I had completely forgotten about it until I first saw INCEPTION.
But man! As soon as the movie got over, I was all zipped up. I started reading about the concept of dream awareness. I read everything I could get my hands on for the next 4 hours.
And then I got to know it is called lucid dreaming. I noted down all the techniques through which you can train your brain to have one.
Now I’ll tell you how I forced my brain to have it again:
- Our brain just mingles up all the imagery we see in daytime and present it as a disconcerted story when we dream. So we do in our dreams what we do in reality. But, you can manipulate your brain. So I repeatedly asked one question to myself all the time when I was awake. “How did I reach this place?” You can always answer this question when you are awake but never when you are dreaming. I would ask this question and of course answer it at least 10 times a day and kept on doing this for around 2 months non stop.
And finally after two months my brain got habituated in asking this question so I asked it in one of my dreams. Eureka!!!!! I didn’t have an answer and instantly I realized I was in a dream. Although, I supplemented it with a few more things.
- I made a dream journal in which I wrote all I could recall just after I woke up. I always kept that journal beside my bed. I wrote what place it was in the dream, what texture of walls, curtains etc. what dress everyone was wearing. This helped me in recognizing the patterns of my dreams so if I saw that again I would become aware.
- Every night before falling asleep I reminded myself to ask this question in my dream and be aware enough to wait for the answer. I would also look at my hand closely to feel the vividness in it and differentiate between dream and reality.
I still can’t forget my first lucid dream experience.
So many plain nights went by. But then one night I was dreaming and I asked the same question again. OH MY SWEET GOD! I got aware. And I had some real fun that night. I flew in the sky like superman. I jumped off a cliff into a scenic blue ocean. I lived up all the fantasies you can think of(oh yes those ones too :p)
Its real life implications:
- I started having such lucid dreams more often after that. But after a while I stopped wasting my time on fulfilling the fantasies and started utilizing it.
- Athletes use a technique called visualization, in which they practice in their minds instead of practicing in real. Lucid dreaming is the father of this technique. Now, suppose you want to learn swimming. When you go into lucid dreaming state just think of a swimming pool and you will find it somewhere. Dive in it and learn the art all by yourself. See! No use of going to a real one.
I got really good at playing cricket by practicing it in lucid dreams. I mean reaaaalllyyyyy good.
My End:
As soon as I stopped writing in my dream journal out of laziness and stopped asking my anchor question when I was awake, I stopped lucid dreaming. But please understand; it was worth every single effort I put in for it.
I tell as many people as I can about its implications. And I want someone to experiment more with it and become or do something extraordinary.

All my friends say it's my overactive imagination but part of me thinks it might just become reality.
I have had lucid dreaming experience, as a fantasy-storyteller, it can be quite handy to me, dreaming up scenarios, I often also dream up alternate endings to movies, etc. I can control my dreams but I prefer to let them take me on a ride instead. Eventually if you let them many dreams do tend to have a bad end, unless you wake up or stop dreaming them before you get to that point.
I kinda grew into the skill from having nightmares, which by definition are Lucid Dreams, and once I learned to deal with them I could control things and tune in our out of dreams at will, as long as I was experie

I kinda grew into the skill from having nightmares, which by definition are Lucid Dreams, and once I learned to deal with them I could control things and tune in our out of dreams at will, as long as I was experiencing one at the time. I have had a severe almost Thud of my heart when I died violently in a dream or two... I have done some experimentation, and found things like imagining things like an ice cavern or lava cave as a starting point... Rollercoasters, oldskool 3D Video-game like realities, disembodied... for me most of my dreams are like movies, I'm generally not my waking self during them, ie I tend to dream from the perspective of a dream character so if I look in the mirror its the dream character not me that I see reflected, and it doesn't strike me as freaky or unusual or anything doing that.
Some dreams are far more realistic than others, including scent, audio, touch, taste, etc... some are quite shallow and couldn't be anything else.
I hope this helps, good luck and I wish you many future... Sweet Dreams.

The dream ran contradictory to real life expectations and involved myself and my husband in an intimate encounter and reconciling our differences with a deeply meaningful conversation.
I was completely aware that I was dreaming at the time and I was enraptured by this dream husband that was with me. My dream husband, unlike my actual husband, apologised for all the hurt he had caused me, was affectionate ...
I have never fully taken control of a dream though being presented with option to do so (I guess).
My mind dreams away and sometimes when it’s time for some decision making to happen in the dream, I suddenly become fully conscious of my body. The eyes are closed still and I feel the helplessness of not being able to move my limbs. This alone terrifies me and I shut down my brain so hard that the dream vanishes. You can feel yourself in the dreams (standing on a cliff top) but I haven’t found the courage till now to take charge of my ‘dream-self’.

So, how do I proceed from the point when you gain awareness at one point of the dream? Do you use your brain to power your ‘dream-self’ or do you try to effect actions by controlling your body in real life?
Lucid dreaming is really just being able to control the outcome of a dream, generally by knowing your dreaming.
I've made birds appear and fly away and eat snakes or spiders in bad dreams, and flown around from a falling dreams and even had super hero type powers.

First — fly. Flying in a lucid dream is one of the most enjoyable activities I know of.
Second — talk to dream people. Remember that they won't believe that they're in a dream; if you try to persuade them, they'll try to persuade *you* that it's *not* a dream. I like to ask questions about my own mental state, like why I have such a block around art and maths.
Third — explore the world of the dream. Pay attention to what it's showing you. The amount of detail can be impressive; in one recently, I was taking a bus ride and we passed an enormous mansion. It had been built for a Russian oligarch as

It had been built for a Russian oligarch as a retirement home when he would inevitably flee Russia to escape prison or assassination, and had several separate and distinct architectural styles. If you find a full length mirror, try walking into it and seeing where you are when you exit. Go into a supermarket, restaurant or bar and enjoy yourself. I'm the only person I know who knows how differently absinthe tastes in a dream compared with waking life.
FILD (finger induced lucid dream) is definitely the quickest and easiest way to have a lucid dream in my opinion. Wake yourself up after about five hours of sleep when you are so tired that you could instantly drift off again. Before you fall back asleep, take 20–30 seconds to move your index finger and middle finger up and down opposite of each other like typing or playing piano. Don't count off the seconds in your head, just estimate. After the 30ish seconds have gone by, do a reality check. This only works if you are extremely tired. Most of the time when I try it I fall back asleep and for

Lucid dreaming is a lot more than flying around and tasting fire. That's what attracts most people to it initially, but simply "having fun" is just barely scratching the surface. Being able to communicate with your subconscious is a huge benefit with lucid dreaming. You can request anything from it: What's my purpose in life? What's my dream job? What's my greatest fear? What's something I need to improve about myself? Lucid dreaming can help you grow as a person and improve your waking life. Skills you practice in lucid dreams such as playing an instrument or practicing a sport actually help with those same skills in waking life. Facing your fears in a lucid dream helps you get over them in waking life. There's a lot more to lucid dreaming than just having trippy experiences. It's definitely worth your time.
I tend to lucid dream quite frequently. I’ve learned to recognize when I’m dreaming and manipulate what’s happening based on how deep in my sleep I still am. If I’m on the brink of waking up, manipulating too much seems to snap me out of the dream. If I’m still completely asleep and able to acknowledge that, I can do a lot more manipulation to the point where I’ve been able to change the topic of the dream completely.

There was one instance when I was having a nightmare about a demon witch trying to kill me. It was so bizarre and things that were obviously impossible kept happening so I was able to realize it was a dream. I changed it to an awesome Skyrim adventure (with all the crazy mods I’ve added for effect) because why not? I always loved being a Khajiit in dreams.
What’s really odd is even though I have total control of the dream’s flow, it seemed like the characters had their own behavioral patterns and personalities. One of the characters seemed to hate me, despite being a character that you can help and marry in game (I think it was Ysolda…) and I can’t remember what I did or said that might’ve made her dislike me in the dream. I must have some subconscious head-canon for the characters that ties her into some other crazy gamer theories I have. Who knows?
Whenever i know that i'm in a dream I always try to do the impossible, like jump off a cliff, fly, perform insane stunts. Because your mind does not know what it is like when you die, your dream ends just before you land.
So here are the insider tips:
forget about reality checks
the key for lucid dreaming is mindfullness
meditate for 30 minutes before bed, avoid blue light 3 hours before bed and write your dreams down as soon as you wake up
additionally you can take melatonin which is boosting your lucid dream rate like crazy
I’m either flying or I’m using magic.
If I know that I’m dreaming, I’ll try to fly, or at least float. Sometimes I’ll stretch my hand out and use the Force to get something, or I’ll say “Accio whatever” and “whatever” will come to my outstretched hand.
I even used this lucid dreaming to get a dog who I sent away to come back and bite my hand. I wish I could lucid dream more often.
I had my first lucid dream on the night of 22 May 2018!
I had been reading a lit of reports/tutorials on lucid dreaming, and because I immensely enjoy dreaming even if I am not aware of it, I decided to try it.
I tried invoking sleep paralysis, which you can allegedly do by forcing your body to sleep while your mind is awake. Then, so I read, you can open your eyes, unable to move, and when you close them again and fall asleep you lucid dream.
Well, it didn’t work for me.
Then I found one of those “use an anchor phrase and/or look at your hands” posts, right here on Quora, and went to sleep having

I slept and I dreamed, and I was standing in the corner in my room. An impulse made me look at my hands, and I realised I had too many finger, and I realised that I was dreaming. Then (and that was weird because I have to wear glasses in real life) the world just came into focus. I could make out every detail, and I realised I could do just about anything. One thing I remember is that the walls of my room were lemon yellow, not almost-white-mauve, and yes, I normally dream in colour. But normally I can’t remember which colours things are, exactly.
Anyway, I somehow drifted into regular dreams, which were still hyper focused and in colour, and the few things I remember are red werewolf scratches, pink swirled cupcake icing with silver pearls, Donald Trump, and my brother being a dick. I guess I still need to practice - it would have been awesome if I had been able to stay aware and in control, I definitely want to try out a few transformation/story line fantasies, in which I live out an internal “script”.
Anyways, it was cool, even if I didn’t do anything! And the colours were super bright and realistic
I used Remee for my first lucid dream on Jan 1 this year. It was near 6:30am in the morning, I was slightly awake, and I turned around and dropped into sleep again. Suddenly I saw the sky blinked in red and I at the split second realized I was in dream. It was shrilled and I felt a little bit paralysis of the hands and legs, and I said to my self calm down to avoid the dream scene crashed. I looked around its like a black-and-white film, the city was covered in heavy smog. In my ordinary dream the scenes are colorful so I noticed the difference. Then I decided to fly, that should be the most common and obvious examine method, and I craw down and jumped toward sky. Yes, I took off and flew high away, I can't express how joyful I was. I crossed the clouds and flew above the clouds, and then I looked downwards the smog gradually disappeared and the city beneath the cloud were colorful, not black-and-white any more. I know I was in China so I decided to fly to some distant destination. I told myself, to Australia! So I turned south and started to accelerate. To avoid dropping down I even waved my arms and hands like wings!
The dream was totally under my control and it was really exciting and joyful experience.
But unfortunately since that day I haven't achieve another lucid dream, although I often wear Remee.
I’ve only had a few and can never stay in them for long. Usually after I realize I’m dreaming I get a full body buzzing feeling and I wake up. There was one time I told myself to touch the grass so I can stay in the dream. That was the longest I stayed lucid in a good dream. I grew my hair out and had all of the piercings I want to get in real life. It was cool!
Except the one that was a nightmare, I became lucid multiple times and then I’d forget I was lucid, just to become lucid again throughout the nightmare and couldn’t get myself to wake up. It felt like forever. That one wasn’t cool.
From what i have read about lucid dreaming, it is when you are having a dream or nightmare but you are aware that it is just a dream, i have had ptsd dreams about my spouse and i will be telling myself to calm down it is only a dream, this has only happened when i have been having a bad dream, i think it is the minds way of leting us know not to take it serious, that we will soon wake up
