OK, I was not the nurse, I was the Father in the delivery room.

It was my wife’s second child. Her labor came hard and fast. She delivered less than an hour after we pulled into the hospital parking garage.

So she’s on the table, the head was presenting itself and she does this push and lets out a scream that I swear was so blood-curdling it belonged in a Hollywood horror flick.

Apparently there was so much back pressure my son’s head just popped out so rapidly that when the neck passed through and left some space, her amniotic fluids and whatever else there is literally sprayed the room, with a gush that traveled more than ten feet and hit a glass wall.

Unfortunately there were some med students, nurses, and the doctor who were in front of that wall in the line of fire. These folks took it hard right in the face. They were soaked. I mean how gross is that?

It was a real mess but I must say in hindsight it was freaking hilarious.
