I think I am eligible to answer this question. Is Simplilearn good? Weel, this answer can be different for different individuals but for me its not simply good enough. I enrolled for Masters in Business Analytics course. It comes with 5 courses as follows:
- Business Analytics in Excel( self paced. only videos)
- Business Analytics with SAS
- Business Analytics with Python
- Business Analytics with R programming
- Data visualisations with Tableau
Except the first one there are classes for the rest of the courses. This is for 40,000 INR.
The instructors are well experienced and have good knowledge. There are weekend online batches. Each session 4 hours. Simplilearn advertises stating so and so hours of instructor lead classes and so and so hours of self paced learning. Now you will be thinking that’s alot of hours which mean more knowledge. Now here is the catch. The instructors teach the same thing which is there in the lMS. Nothing new. You can listen to the videos in the LMS and the instructor will take you through the same.
One session is attended by more than 30 students and there will be a bunch of morons in every class who will ask the instructors the stupidest of the stupidest questions and the instructors are bound to answer these questions. I can say that out of 4 hours 1 hour of more will be spent on answering these.
Third point is you are not going to be a Master in Business Analytics. The entire course material is just an introduction to Business Analytics. You can find introduction to Advanced Excel, R Programming, Python and Tableau online. No need to spend money on this website. The customer service is needless to say shit. I posed a question and no one answered. They just pester you until you join the course. Once you joined the course it’s like government office. You have to wait for 2–3 days for your doubts to be answered.
Either way if you just want an introduction to analytics and you are tooooo lazy to search online for free courses this is definitely the place you want to go. For someone like me who already has a introduction knowledge on these subjects, there is nothing that gives you Mastery after this course.
These are my personal views. No doubt there are good instructors with very good experience in their respective. There is not in depth knowledge you will get after completing this course. It is just an introduction.
