Self-inquiry and surrender are two names for the same thing.

1. Self-inquiry requires us to meditate on reality, but who indeed can meditate on reality?

Who can capture the infinite in their brain?

It would easier to catch the ocean in a cup.

The only way to meditate on reality is to be reality.

Reality shines as the Heart, devoid of thought.

2. With hearts melting with love, we want only to surrender.

God’s name and form shimmer, but He isn’t in them.

God has just stepped out and left His representative.

The intensity of our love has overcome our composure.

We will not speak to God's delegate again.

We won’t be put off any longer!

O where can we find God?

Eternal and limitless, God has no form.

The eternal Lord is none other than Being and Awareness.

To think no more of limitation is to surrender to God.

3. Abiding in the Heart alone is true inquiry and true surrender.

To abide in the Heart is to abide as “I am” and nothing more.

The path of wisdom and devotion are one and the same.
