I inherited from my father at a very young age so I went from being a regular employee earning enough to live pay check by pay check to having an abundance of wealth.
I was overwhelmed with responsibilities because the money came from a business that needed to be run smoothly and, naively, I thought my experience would be sufficient, but after a few weeks in I was shocked with the amount of decisions I needed to make as the new owner/ director.
First change was my attitude towards work, I don’t clock out at the end of the day and just go home, I lived and breathed work 24/7.
Next change was the amount of buddies I had, the strangest people came out of the woodwork when they realized I’d come into a lot of money and I had a period of being targeted as a naive heiress and that was really hurtful. It took a few years and a horrible marriage to differentiate between friends and gold diggers.
Then the social responsibility of helping those in need, now that I can afford to help others I needed to make sure that a portion of my income went out to help the poor and struggling in my life. Personally this is a must and I need to assure it went to the right people not good diggers again.
These are the major changes that changed my life substantially.
