Well if we compare it to BNHA/MHA as an example, Horikoshi literally forgot a major plot point and had to rush to sloppily reintroduce it. I'm talking about the “Traitor Arc”, he dropped the nugget that UA had a traitor in its midsts feeding info to the League really early on… and promptly forgot about it, which led to no hints or foreshadowing as to who it was until it was revealed in the Traitor Arc over 300 chapters in, over 200 chapters after it was hinted at. This led to the arc feeling out of nowhere and left a lot of people disappointed, some feeling that it was rushed and sloppy and it

This led to the arc feeling out of nowhere and left a lot of people disappointed, some feeling that it was rushed and sloppy and it was. Fans already knew a traitor existed, Horikoshi when he realized he made a mistake in forgetting the plot point could have worked in tiny hints and mini reveals worked into other arcs. Instead he kept that character mostly in the background until suddenly he gets his own arc where you're bombarded with EVERYTHING at once.

In general that is an issue I have with BNHA, the pacing is just jerking you around the whole time. Character development is minimal or non-existent outside of Bakugo, Shoto and Deku, the other characters relevance is sporadic and inconsistent, world building is minimal with some arcs being spent in a single building or area and the only info given being “this is an evil lair”, “this is another UA training area” and as I said earlier there is barely ever foreshadowing. Add in how the manga suddenly jumps from highschool fun to OH SHIT OH GOD PEOPLE ARE DIEING EVERYTHING IS ON FIRE and it makes everything a disjointed mess.

Oda by no means is perfect but a large part of what makes One Piece so much more fluid of a story despite being so much longer and written over the course of about 25 years… is improvisation and a good memory.

Yeah, Oda most certainly did not have everything figured out from the beginning but he knows how to go back and use characters and world and lore he's already created to make his new ideas or changed plans fit near seamlessly. For instance, Haki wasn't planned, it was something he decided to add into Sabaody and the Paramount War Saga because he wanted another power system for the New World. What made Haki work was that he didn't just pull it out of his ass, he based it on unexplained phenomenon he put into other arcs. Shanks scaring of the Sea Kings became Conquerors Haki, Zoro cutting metal in Alabasta became Armament Haki, the Mantra of the Skypiean’s became Observation Haki. The 11 Worst Generation and 7 Warlords were also sudden additions he masterfully improvised into the world.

He also has a great memory, or at least regularly rereads old chapters because his ability to make characters from 100’s of chapters ago still relevant, to take bits of lore revealed year ago and expand upon them is impressive and a big reason for the mangas success. It makes for an exciting read, as an example, in Laws back story at some point a mystery boy is shown escaping his father's pirate crew. For most of the scene his face is covered, but when it was revealed I was thrilled, he had orange hair and a big scar on his chin and I immediately recognized him as this character

Things like that are fun, people get enjoyment in catching the hints and connecting the dot. This isn't just a paycheck for Oda, he genuinely loves his story, his characters and his world and he strives to make it something people can have fun with. Meanwhile sometimes it feels like mangakas like Horikoshi are just phoning it in to rush to the next fight, like jingly keys to a baby.

Prologue arc

Either Elbaf or Laugh Tale could have one or more shorter arcs that help build up to the main event. Like Vivi traveling with the straw hats before Alabasta or punk hazard, dressrosa & whole cake setting everything up for Wano.

Finale arc

It's in the realm of possibility that Laugh Tale will be the final arc. Though if theories that the One Piece is a device to destroy the Redline & make the 6 oceans 'One Piece' then the final arc may be the Grand Fleet Vs Mariejois.

Possible epilogue arc

Whether this is the party after the final battle or showing the straw hats decades later enjoying life, there will probably be a small epilogue arc.

It doesn’t compare at all, because it’s unbeatable and simply without competition.

First of all we need to clarify what foreshadowing actually is.

an indication of something that will happen in the future, often used as a literary device to hint at or allude to future plot developments.

So in simple terms, it’s the ability to hint at certain things that will happen later in a subtle way.

And the last part is important and shows why One Piece is without competition in this regards. The time that passed through the foreshadowing and the actual events itself is sometimes longer than 99% of the series

And the last part is important and shows why One Piece is without competition in this regards. The time that passed through the foreshadowing and the actual events itself is sometimes longer than 99% of the series‘s actually go. The subtle way to foreshadow something that will be important or happen decades later is what truly separates Oda from others.

Let me give you some examples.

This panel was released in Chapter 218. The chapter released in February, 2002. At first look the text narrated in this panel seems to obviously mention the possibility of a huge ship falling from the sky. At this point no one else thought that this sentence meant more than that. But read it again.

Everything that humans can imagine, can happen in reality.

Sounds familiar?

Roughly 20 years later, in Chapter 1069 Vegapunk talks about his theory that devil fruits are the desires of humans. He hints at the possibility that devil fruits are a product of human imagination.

Exactly pointing to the sentence from Willy Gallon in Chapter 218.

So Oda foreshadowed the theory about devil fruits 20 years before the actual chapter of it dropped. In a subtle way that no one ever connected that sentence to the theory at all. But when you then get to read chapter 1069, suddenly it clicks and you say „Ooohhhh“.

And this is not the only time.

In Skypea Oda was already foreshadowing the existence of Nika. At that point we thought that the deities the people of Shandora prayed to were just some gods that were irrelevant for the further story. Especially since this happened hundreds of years ago.

There were also dozens of foreshadowings about Gear 5, Nico Robin‘s form etc. decades earlier.

I could go on with this with a lot of examples of foreshadowing. There are hundreds of them.

So I don’t think that anyone can compare to Oda in terms of foreshadowing. Especially not in this time of decades of writing.

Oda is one of the best authors of all times. He is the peak.

Hope that helps, thank you.

1. Cancel Your Car Insurance

You might not even realize it, but your car insurance company is probably overcharging you. In fact, they’re kind of counting on you not noticing. Luckily, this problem is easy to fix.

Don’t waste your time browsing insurance sites for a better deal. A company called Insurify shows you all your options at once — people who do this save up to $996 per year.

If you tell them a bit about yourself and your vehicle, they’ll send you personalized quotes so you can compare them and find the best one for you.

Tired of overpaying for car insurance? It takes just five minutes to compare your options with Insurify and see how much you could save on car insurance.

2. Ask This Company to Get a Big Chunk of Your Debt Forgiven

A company called National Debt Relief could convince your lenders to simply get rid of a big chunk of what you owe. No bankruptcy, no loans — you don’t even need to have good credit.

If you owe at least $10,000 in unsecured debt (credit card debt, personal loans, medical bills, etc.), National Debt Relief’s experts will build you a monthly payment plan. As your payments add up, they negotiate with your creditors to reduce the amount you owe. You then pay off the rest in a lump sum.

On average, you could become debt-free within 24 to 48 months. It takes less than a minute to sign up and see how much debt you could get rid of.

3. You Can Become a Real Estate Investor for as Little as $10

Take a look at some of the world’s wealthiest people. What do they have in common? Many invest in large private real estate deals. And here’s the thing: There’s no reason you can’t, too — for as little as $10.

An investment called the Fundrise Flagship Fund lets you get started in the world of real estate by giving you access to a low-cost, diversified portfolio of private real estate. The best part? You don’t have to be the landlord. The Flagship Fund does all the heavy lifting.

With an initial investment as low as $10, your money will be invested in the Fund, which already owns more than $1 billion worth of real estate around the country, from apartment complexes to the thriving housing rental market to larger last-mile e-commerce logistics centers.

Want to invest more? Many investors choose to invest $1,000 or more. This is a Fund that can fit any type of investor’s needs. Once invested, you can track your performance from your phone and watch as properties are acquired, improved, and operated. As properties generate cash flow, you could earn money through quarterly dividend payments. And over time, you could earn money off the potential appreciation of the properties.

So if you want to get started in the world of real-estate investing, it takes just a few minutes to sign up and create an account with the Fundrise Flagship Fund.

This is a paid advertisement. Carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses of the Fundrise Real Estate Fund before investing. This and other information can be found in the Fund’s prospectus. Read them carefully before investing.

When you take a quick survey (some are less than three minutes), you’ll earn points you can exchange for up to $50 in cash or gift cards to places like Walmart and Amazon. Plus, Penny Hoarder readers will get an extra 500 points for registering and another 1,000 points after completing their first survey.

5. This Online Bank Account Pays 10x More Interest Than Your Traditional Bank

If you bank at a traditional brick-and-mortar bank, your money probably isn’t growing much (c’mon, 0.40% is basically nothing).1

But there’s good news: With SoFi Checking and Savings (member FDIC), you stand to gain up to a hefty 3.80% APY on savings when you set up a direct deposit or have $5,000 or more in Qualifying Deposits and 0.50% APY on checking balances2 — savings APY is 10 times more than the national average.1

Right now, a direct deposit of at least $1K not only sets you up for higher returns but also brings you closer to earning up to a $300 welcome bonus (terms apply).3

You can easily deposit checks via your phone’s camera, transfer funds, and get customer service via chat or phone call. 5. Stop Paying Your Credit Card Company

If you have credit card debt, you know. The anxiety, the interest rates, the fear you’re never going to escape… but a website called AmONE wants to help.

If you owe your credit card companies $100,000 or less, AmONE will match you with a low-interest loan you can use to pay off every single one of your balances.

The benefit? You’ll be left with one bill to pay each month. And because personal loans have lower interest rates (AmONE rates start at 6.40% APR), you’ll get out of debt that much faster.

It takes less than a minute and just 10 questions to see what loans you qualify for.

6. Earn Up to $225 This Month Playing Games on Your Phone

Bakuman explains it. Bakuman is a manga written by Tsugumi Ouba about Shounen Jump mangaka. It’s a tongue-in-cheek “behind the scenes” look at how Shounen Jump mangaka write their manga. He explains the trick here:

Basically, you go through your old earlier works to find parts that weren’t foreshadowing but can be made into foreshadowing and do that in your later works.

This is a trick Shounen Jump mangaka in long-running series do all the time. Ohba revealed it in Bakuman, yet we still have people who have no clue and think it was planned out 20 years in advance. Oda did plan a lot of things, but a lot of things in One Piece aren’t. Anything about Nika is pretty much not foreshadowing. A lot of other things are, like Luffy beating the Motobalo in Saboady is foreshadowing for Haki. But a lot of things aren’t. Shanks foreshadowing Conqueror Haki, Ener foreshadowing Observation Haki, etc. are not foreshadowing.

LOL no. Just no.

Most competent writers have an overall plan for their work and have several key plot points plotted out in advance. Ace dying is one of those things Oda probably planned out very early on. It’s a major event that he likely had in mind ever since he created Ace as a character.

At the very least, it was something he had planned since Skypiea, and that’s reasonable. A lot of other things, though, aren’t, and nobody can plan out everything in a work that’s been running for two decades. That’s where the “Standalone-that-isn’t-a-standalone” technique comes in, and tricks gullible readers into thinking that someone was indeed godly enough to plan everything out two decades in advance.

Today, we still have fans putting Oda on a pedestal and poring through One Piece looking for foreshadowing where it doesn’t exist, but was retconned to do so. LOL, this is the “Standalone-that-isn’t-a-Standalone” trick people and it was explained to you by an actual Shounen Jump mangaka in Bakuman.

Kaido defeated….maybe even killed but most likely put in a suuuuuupppppppeeeeeerrrrrrrr max prison specifically designed to keep him in.

The strawhats become more infamous with Luffy and Zoro leading the infamy. Law would also become more of a threat.

New bounties for everyone….Luffy should hit 2billion….Law should clock 1billion - 800million and Zoro should come clock 500million - 700million. Chopper gets 500.

And as tradition, the strawhats would possibly get some treasure, Nami would be happy only for Luffy and co to throw an island wide party that the funds would be sunk into.

Oda has commented about how close his series is to completion before. He claimed that the manga was about 60% done back in 2012, then 65% done in 2016. While a 15% jump towards completion in less than two years might be alarming to some fans, we know that One Piece has no problem taking its time to reach its destination. For instance, the setting of the current Wano arc (which is filled with fierce samurai and are independent from the World Government), was first mentioned over 10 years ago.

Now if you really think any manga can take over one piece… let me tell you there is none (atleast not in next 2–3 decades)

Its about to surpass batman and let alone some manga taking its place.

It is sooo big, no manga can even come close to it. It's manga has been sold almost twice as that of dragon ball's manga and that was 4 years ago.

Eiichiro Oda's One Piece first began serialization in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump in 1997. It has been collected into 87 volumes, with a few chapters yet to be included. It has been a critical and commercial success worldwide with many of the volumes breaking printing records in Japan. The manga has even set a Guinness World Record for the most copies published for the same comic book.

New chapters of One Piece are released weekly and are serialized in the Shonen Jump magazine in the United States.

In terms of popularity, One Piece is the most popular/successful manga of all time, and it’s not even close.

One Piece has sold over 430 million copies. Second place is Dragon Ball with 240 Million, then Naruto with 220 Million. So in terms of manga, One Piece is by far, the most popular manga of all time. No other manga will catch up to One Piece for years to come, especially since Naruto and Naruto Shipudden have ended, and Dragon Ball Super just ended. In terms of anime, there’s no way to tell which is more popular, but most lists have Dragon Ball at Number 1, One Piece at around 5, and Naruto somewhere between 8–11. That’s not at all reliable information, as I only checked about 15 websites and that’s the average of where they were, but it’s probably similar to that.

I would say that One Piece is already more popular than Naruto, but if not right now than it definitely will be in the future.

A true masterpiece which brings us amazing story about Sanji and his family. It’s probably the only arc that made me drop a tear numerous times. WCI is so deep and interesting that it’s became my second favourite instantly.

1. Eniess Lobby

I thought so once I finished it, and I still think so. Eniess Lobby arc brought us so much that no other arc have brought. We had deep emotions of Robin, watching her past, figthing for a friend, declaring a war to the World Goverment and of course major upgrades for each strawhat and individual amazing fights.

The ultimate goal of finding One Piece is now so legendary, there have been countless rumors as to what it could be. Tied in with this, you have the Void Century, the Poneglyph, The Will of D, and so many other mysteries that when Oda-Sensei gives a small glimpse at it, it leaves the readers with even more questions and theories and rumors.

To surpass this kind of story, the author needs to be prepared to have such an intricate world, plot, sub-plots, and more.

I think so.

One Piece is obviously more popular worldwide, but even in America I think it'll surpass Naruto. One Piece missed the mainstream shonen boom while Naruto didn't, which is why Naruto's more popular here now, but the boom ended a while ago. Naruto is no longer mainstream, and most boom fans probably didn't stick with it the way dedicated anime fans would.

One Piece will probably end well over five years after Naruto, so it has a lot more time to build up its fanbase. Also, while One Piece is starting to rehash old arcs, it's nowhere near as bad as Naruto's last 100 chapters (unless you

You could know more about minor characters and locations in one piece provides, and still leaves you plenty of room to want more. Every arc literally gives you more information about the location and the people that live there then any nation in naruto.

You could get invested in the void century and other mysteries, the balance of the world powers, there is a long list of different good characters, the straw hats exploring and have adventures, and/or even characters we only learn about in back stories.

One piece also has several different major events playing out at the same time. Such as the actions of the other supernovas, the reverie arc and wano taking place at the same time, and/or all the everything that occurred during the two your time skip. Just like in the real world the universe doesn’t revolve around one person and multiple peoples actions can shape it constantly. Other anime like naruto and dragon ball have a nasty habit of putting everything on pause that doesn’t involve around the main character. Nothing of any real significance that doesn’t evolve around team 7 training happened during the time skip, or none of the other villages making any notable moves on monopolizing on the leaf village attack, or the main village actions until it’s to late.

That’s what makes one piece considered the king world building. Everything is Explored to some degree, multiple events happening at same time, multiple people reacting to each notable event, every backstory having impact and expanding on multiple stories and arcs. All the while every arc is part of the saga, and every saga leads into a part and every part leads into the story. Most stories traits to keep each part or saga contained in it’s own bubble, meanwhile one piece story is constantly building and expanding The longer it goes on almost seamlessly.

Trying to find any anime or manga that surpasses one piece in any one individual aspect of World building is rear, finding one that surpasses one piece in every aspect of world building out know is impossible. Add in several great characters with A grade backstory’s, and one of the best blends of Comedy and action in anime, then there’s no surprise why it is the best selling manga in history.

It happens a lot, people think that One Piece ain’t popular just because there isn’t a whole lot of exposure in their country of origin. Japan markets Japanese content for a Japanese audience. I’m telling you now - One Piece was never lagging in popularity. It has never suffered a massive decline in audiences. For good reason too, it’s hella good. Check it out if you haven’t.

Looks like it already did.

In any other way, it is subjective. One Piece has better plot, less plot holes, Naruto had better art and fight scenes. But all in all in my opinion One Piece is better than Naruto.

Not very.

The anime is currently at the begining of Luffy's final confrontation with Kaido. The manga is approaching the end.

Granting One Piece fights can last for an eternity, I think the anime will hurry to get to a certain, important moment of progress for Luffy.

It’s probably the best written Manga in it’s Genre.

For that Shonen Comedy/Action style Manga, you really won’t find any better. It’s got more heart than Naruto, better character development than Bleach and better action than Dragonball, which would have been it’s closest rivals.

(Almost forgot MHA. If there’s one Shonen out there that you could really compare to One Piece in terms of raw quality it’s MHA)

But is it the best Manga written overall?

Probably not.

It’s a beautiful slice of life manga that really tugs at your emotions and has deeply made, flawed characters just trying to make it through their lives and making sad mistakes along the way.

That being said, I wouldn’t even really compare it to One Piece, since they’re such wildly different Genres.

It’s like trying to compare Casablanca with Black Panther. Both great movies, but they’re so impossibly different you can’t really compare them.

I think this may be a rather biased question because One Piece is a pretty formulated piece of work. You really need to read more manga. However, I'll humor you. One thing I've always loved about One Piece is the fact that it's such a light-hearted series considering Luffy has such a daunting and dangerous task ahead of him. Then again, what could possibly not be light-hearted about a pirate who's body is literally made of rubber? It has a nice plot, which kind of tends to drag on, but I can live with that because of the action and all the downright strange characters it brings in the story. One Piece makes you care about Luffy and his crew. There are people that they meet that affect the crew and your own opinions of them. People in this series change. Shanks--the person Luffy's been chasing after this whole time--is probably a prime example of that. And for all its oddities, it's probably one of the better manga that has proven to its readers that real friends ex...

Needless to say, SPOILERS AHEAD.

It might be strange to put the first one in comparison with the second considering how long the Water seven arc is and how long the Sabaody arc is. Lets ignore the length of the arcs and come to the content of the arcs themselves.

In water seven/enies lobby (I consider them as a single arc instead of individual ones) it was the first time that the Straw hat crew were going up against the true villains of the series i.e. the World Government (well actually it’s the navy and CP9 but the world government is behind it all). Yes, they had already faced enemies that were stronger or infamous and had come out on top but this was the first time that Luffy showed to everyone that no matter who the enemy was, if they were in his way of becoming a pirate king or were torturing his friends he wouldn’t tolerate it and what better an enemy to show that than the world government themselves.

This was the ultimate message. Luffy clearly understood who he would be threatening by doing this and did it anyway. The execution was perfect here, the first time and nearly every other time I watch this I get goosebumps. The emotion and the tension were just right. In this arc, Luffy goes on to show what kind of man and pirate he truly is, one who would never leave behind his crew or their ambitions regardless of the enemy. Yes, this is a cliche that nearly every TV show and anime and movie use and have been using for a very long time but somehow I felt that one piece conveyed this perfectly.

I nearly forgot to mention the fight between Luffy and Usopp that was so emotionally exhausting.

Now for the other competitor, the sabaody arc. Now this was a really short ‘arc’ if you could even call it that. This takes place sometime after the water seven arc and its when the other part of Luffy is shown that we wouldn’t have thought he would do. He retreats. The straw hat crew go to sabaody to make a modification to their ship. On the island is where Luffy gets into his second major fight with the World Government and their representatives. During a slave auction Luffy sucker punches a celestial dragon so hard that the animators decided to make that scene black and white.

As fun as it is to watch a an extremely corrupt man from nobility get KO’d, it’s not the only reason this is one of my favorite arcs. Right after this, the world government decides to send a large portion of the navy stationed nearby to capture him along with an admiral. That’s where things get interesting, the crew have to not only face an admiral but also the shichibukai Kuma (one of the seven pirate warlords). The straw hats are unable to fend them both off despite Rayleigh’s help. In fact, Luffy and co. couldn’t even take on kuma.

Now is when the series shows Luffy doing something protagonists don’t usually do. He knows they can’t win and orders his crew to retreat. This doesn’t work out well either and Kuma scatters the crew across the grand line. This was acknowledgement by the series that Luffy’s actions do have consequences and that even the hero couldn’t always win even if his cause is ‘noble’. Luffy decided to go up against the world government and this was the reaction, one he wasn’t strong enough to withstand.

Yes, I know this isn’t revolutionary and the mantra of the hero never dies is still strongly followed. I love this so much because of the execution of it, the way the show makes you feel for the characters despite the cliches. The series still doesn’t let its characters get the win always or so easily because they’re stronger now. In fact, the crew is up against one of the yonkos that they clearly can’t beat and Oda has shown time and again that he won’t just give Luffy a momentary power boost because of the ‘power of friendship’ and let him win against enemies that are so obviously more powerful than him.

So to conclude, this is why these are my favorite arcs in one piece.

P.S.: I also really liked the thriller bark arc, but for different and reasons.

It also reminds me that there is no easy way to success. When you are complaining and thinking why some people seem to have it so easy, you have no idea how much effort they have paid in order to get to where they are. It encourages me to have my own ambitions and work hard to achieve them. It’s really worth watching.

People in Japan might be able to answer this a lot better, but I’ll try to give a shot at answering this question, since I love One Piece.

  1. The Story is absolutely great. Oda(the author) knows the art of story telling very well. There are very few retcons, duex ex machina or copouts in the story, which is an amazing feat since One piece is a weekly manga, so he does not get a lot of time to consider far reaching implications of a story telling decision, unlike in the case of novelists.
  2. The characters are all charming and fun, even the villains. Having boring characters is the worst thing possible

  2. The characters are all charming and fun, even the villains. Having boring characters is the worst thing possible for a story teller. All of Oda’s characters seem unique in different ways especially in small aspects of their behavior. His character designs are also amazing and amusing once you get over the initial shock of his art style in the early few chapters. Only criticism i have of his character designs is that many female characters follow the generic good looking manga female design. But he more than makes it up by having incredibly imaginative and mind-blowing character designs for other characters.
  3. The world building of one piece is second to none. The world of One piece is incredibly detailed and has a lot of depth, due to this the world of One Piece is also a character in the story. This makes reading the manga an immersive experience just like wonderful fantasy novels like Harry Potter series, ASOIAF series or KingKiller Chronicles series.
  4. Earlier points explained the excellence of One Piece. in this point I’ll try to explain the popularity. One Piece comes in the shonen genre (It is a genre that targets male audience from 12–19 typically). It has all the ingredients that young boys typically like in a story. Fights, Badass characters, Power levels, Cool techniques and moves, you name it. So it locks in the target audience. But it also has so much more. Oda’s storytelling tackles a lot of social issues like, racism, slavery, tyranny, corruption in government, helplessness in poverty, triumph of hope and a lot more. These themes are underlying in the story in such a way that they do not steal the spotlight away from the main story, but they are regardless an integral part of the story. This also allows more mature and older audiences to enjoy this manga, since believe me not all storytellers have the panache to deal with such difficult issues effortlessly without affecting their story the way Oda does.
  5. So we have seen why One Piece has popularity among male audience young and old alike. One Piece also has a lot of cool female characters, all having a distinct personality which female readers can identify with. There’s a lot of emotional heft to the story, lots of tears shed along the way and enormous laughs to be had. It is not the typical mindless WWE type shonen where it is just one long fight after another with numerous panels of mindless violence. This emotional heft draws a lot of the female audience in, which typical shonen do not do.
  6. Humour in One Piece is front and center along with the Story. The gags that Oda executes are wonderful, which sometimes keep the reader engaged even though the story might be going through a lull phase. So even if you are looking for a feel good read, which is not too taxing for the brain One Piece fits that bill.
  7. While it may not be taxing to the brain to read, One Piece is not a dumb manga. One Piece has layers to it. A typical reader can read once and have fun. A more fanatic reader can read it multiple times and find clues about what might happen in the future, since Oda is a master of foreshadowing. This brings in a lot of theorists who predict what could possibly happen in the future, again bringing to mind the fantasy novel series parallel. The theorist create the hype train, which a normal One Piece fan boards and every chapter is eagerly awaited by majority of the audience for further revelations, because Oda being the pro that he is, still manages to surprise and satisfy at the same time, even thought there are literally 1000’s of people online trying to predict what will happen next.

These are the points i can currently think of at the top of my head.

My favorite arc in One Piece has to be the Water 7/Enies Lobby arc.

I think that the arc had a perfect blend of the exploration that we expect from One Piece, story that we should get, and action that was actually thrilling.

After the story and exposition are out of the way mostly, we jump straight into the action. The sea train running through the storm. The massive fight at Enies Lobby's gates. The multiple fights the Strawhats go through. And finally, Luffy's climactic fight with Rob Lucci using gears 2 and 3.

Even saying all of this, the Wano arc is shaping up to take the position of my favorite.

Luffy's big drive of course is being the Pirate King. Roronoa Zoro wants be the best swordsman in the world. Nami wants to draw a map of the world world. Sanji is looking for the All Blue(a sea that has all the fish in the world). Usopp want's be a brave warrior of the sea, see Elbaf, the Island of the Giants, and be the true Sniper King. Chopper wants to cure all the diseases and sicknesses to ever exist. Robin wants to read all the Ponylglyphs(ancient stone plaques written in a language that only a few people could read). Franky wants to build a ship and sail around the world while having face in many epic battles. Finally Brook just wants reunite with his old friend Laboon(a pet whale he left behind many years ago).

Next thing I will answer is perhaps the story itself is very interesting. We begin with a famous pirate named Gol D. Roger and find out he was the last Pirate King. He sailed the Grand Line in its entirety and he changed the world. We start with the execution of Gol D. Roger but before he was Executed he told everyone about his Great Treasure and he said you can have if you find it. Of course he stated he left everyone in one place and in One Piece(hence the name of the series and the name of the legendary treasure). As we progress and learn about every character in the story, we explore new islands, learn about the history of the world in the series, and we learn about many things in the story.

One of the biggest things I really like is the aspect of teamwork in series. Teamwork is probably coolest thing about the series. We see all different kinds of pirate crews and while some are the enemy depending on the story arc, we still see teamwork at its best. I use the protagonists explain this better about the teamwork. Luffy is the Captain and he of course is the strongest(well Zoro could argue that but that's not the point). Luffy's strengths are all physical ones. He's a pretty good fighter. Zoro a pretty strong Swordsman and he's always getting stronger. Sanji is the chef so his skills are best in the kitchen however he's pretty strong physically too, with his boots. Of course Nami is very skilled in weather knowledge and in navigational skills. Usopp is a skilled sniper and very good at making weaponry. Chopper is great Doctor, but also being a Blue nosed reindeer, he can talk to animals. Robin is very smart and good at getting out of sticky situations. Franky is very skilled with fixing ships and he's very skilled with hi tech gadgets too. Finally Brook is skilled musician as well as a good fencer. With all these skills everyone uses them to work together and succeed. This aspect of teamwork is also the same reason that helped make the Avengers movies so popular too but getting back to One Piece, teamwork is a big thing.

Another thing is the sociology of the series. We see some many so aspects of sociology in the series. We see a government and how it operates, we see structures of class, unfairness in the world, and even the reasons why pirates are pirates are pirates and why the Marines are Marines.

I also like the uniqueness of the series. We have so many cool things like Devil Fruits. We see so many of them and what they do. They can alter a body like in the case with Luffy's Gum Gum Fruit allowing him be rubber and have a rubber body. They give you a super power at the cost of never being able to swim(which makes it interesting that Pirates eat these fruits and so do Naval personnel). There are different kinds from paramecia that just give your a power possibly alter your body, zoan that allow to turn into animals or creatures, and the logia type that allow you turn into an element be immune to physical attacks in most cases. Of course there is the power of Haki that's very mysterious, and of course normal super powers too.

There's also stuff like the Will of D. and why some people have D. in their name such as Monkey D. Luffy. It's also cool to see a Reindeer be a doctor an and talking skeleton be a musician.

In conclusion there is many things that make this series great. You can have your own reasons for liking the series. But whatever it is you can see just what makes this series interesting.

It's not because there are other long manga with so many more chapters than One Piece but still no manga can touch it. One Piece manga sales even crossed Batman comic sales. And now One Piece is gonna cross Harry Potter sales too in coming years.

And for number 1 One Piece has been number one for decades only some anime like Death Note took it's position only for some time when they aired.

Even now it's on top as most popular in both ongoing anime and manga. So if One Piece ends the anime ongoing at that time will take the top spot as most popular ongoing anime.

But the fact One Piece is the best anime of all time is not gonna change. Only few anime can have the title the best anime and One Piece sure is one of them. At the very least it's the best long running anime of all time.

No current manga or anime can ever beat One Piece and take it's position as One Piece is so unique and it can't have copies like Naruto had been bettered by Black Clover, Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia which are called copied from Naruto.

One Piece is unique and it's the best it'll be number one even if it ends. Still there can be anime which will be popular in their respective years as you see Demon Slayer won best anime award last year and Attack on Titan won best anime this year and it goes on but One Piece is a Masterpiece and there is only one One Piece.

When One Piece ends it's gonna be end of an era. One Piece is gonna leave it's mark in anime world. For the people who watched and traveled with it for years One Piece is not just an anime but it's their part of life.

So I think the one thing people forget about one piece is that Oda already knew the ending and what the one piece was before he even drew the first page

Having an ending set in stone like that leaves you a lot of wiggle room to do things that other anime couldn't

Even dragonball didn't have that because toriyama notoriously wrote the story blindly without thinking too far into the future

The only anime that I think might actually have that too was attack on titan

And possibly FMA
