I told this story already but I’ll repeat it anyways.
When an Egyptian guy offered 100 camels for my mother.
We were on our cruise down the Nile river and Luxor was one of the places that we visited. While we were in the Temple of Hatshepsut, a middle-aged man walks to us, looks at my mother, me and my father and just says
“I’ll give you 100 camels for her”
My father just looked at him, with his eyes wide open.
-Are you serious?”
“I’ve never been more serious in my life”
“You don’t have enough camels for me” my mother said.
The guy just laughed and pointed into his shop and that’s when we realized what he meant - he had T-shirts with camels on them and the whole 100 camels for my mother took another turn..We just had a laugh and I bought the T-shirts in the end.
Getting lost in Greece
It was 5 years ago when we were traveling to Chalkidiki, Sithonia. We got through FYR Macedonia easily and got to the border with Greece. Nothing special happened and we entered the country normally. Then, we turned our GPS to find the way to Thessaloniki (at the time we weren’t familiar with Greece as we are now) and we planned to get around Thessaloniki but our GPS was a dumbass so we entered the city and from that point, we were all stressed out. We didn’t know the city, we didn’t know where to go and our GPS was joking with us. We were trying to get out of the city and when we finally did, the GPS started saying
“Turn right. Turn right. After 200 m turn right”
And my mother was like
“The sea is right you dumbass motherfucker! Piece of shit! Come on! Work!”
I just laughed at her reaction while worrying where do we have to go. The GPS stopped working and my mother just turned to my father and said
“Either buy a normal GPS or I am done with traveling!”
We stopped at a gas station to ask for directions and after 30 minutes, we were finally on the right road. The level of stress was too high if you ask me but it was too funny in the same time. My mother’s reaction was priceless.
Chased by Moroccan bikers on our way from Rabat to Fes
I’ll keep this short because I already mentioned it. Anyways, we were traveling from Rabat to Fes and the trip was normal for the most part. Pretty much regular when suddenly I noticed a biker behind us. It wasn’t anything weird in the first place so I just relaxed and looked through the window when all of a sudden 2 more bikers appeared. At this point I was really confused because I thought that they will just go around us (as our driver was driving very slow) but they didn’t. I heard noises after a few minutes and I saw 3 more bikers coming towards us. I just used my elbow to push my mother (she was sleeping) and when she woke up, I just asked her why are they following us. She didn’t know so she asked our tour guide. The tour guide didn’t know so she asked the driver and as soon as she did, he wanted to get away from them so he hit the gas pedal but that wasn’t successful. The next moment they were on the both sides of the bus and behind it so he gave up and stopped. One biker got into the bus and the driver argued with him in Arabic while we were just watching but after a few minutes, the driver gave up and the biker said that they chased us because they wanted to sell us Moroccan souvenirs. My father with other people got out of the bus to see what they have and when they bought what they wanted, we continued our trip. It was rather interesting in the end.
And of course I have this:
