Your life is the journey.
Everyone who is “done” went through life. You are going through life right now. That’s your journey.
The illusion is in believing that there is some other journey, special journey, enlightened journey. The illusion is that there are special activities, special practices, special words, special thoughts, that will “make you” enlightened.
The illusion is the idea that something you do will “make you” something other than what you are.
Just like a child lives, experiences, opens, grows, matures and eventually becomes an adult, so does a human experiences, opens, grows, matures and sometimes, very rarely, becomes enlightened.
A child doesn’t become an adult because he followed the right path, because he did the right things, because a practice “made him” grow up.
A human doesn’t become enlightened because she followed the right path, because she did the right things, because a practice “made her” enlightened.
A child already is an adult. The adulthood is already in him, and in time it will express itself. Not only does the child not need to do anything special to grow up, but nothing that he does would stop him from growing up. Adulthood is inevitable, no matter what the child does. It will happen, because that is the nature of the child. Adulthood is a full expression of what the child is: a human.
An enlightened one already is enlightened, the enlightenment already is what she is and in time it will express itself. Not only does one not need to do anything to become enlightened but, if enlightenment is what one is, there is nothing one can do that could stop enlightenment from expressing itself. Enlightenment is a full expression of an enlightened one.
There is no journey necessary to become what one already is, but there is a process of expressing what one already is. That process is called: your life.
