This movie is picturised & scripted as per a fictional novel “ Rao" . So director has taken the liberty to show anything & earn money by fooling people.

Let me put some small facts .

  1. Though Raja chatrasal of bundel khand offered to give Mastani to Bajirao Peshwa . Chatrasal officially did marriage ceremony as per maharashtrian traditions & so they officially got married.
  2. After marriage when they came to Pune naturally they were not accepted by Peshwa family as Mastani was a Muslim & peshwas were Brahmin. Other issue was that Mastani was not a daughter from raja chatrasal’s official marriage. She was a daughter of one of his mistress.
  3. She was kept in different house by bajirao . She was never kept with any prostitutes as shown in the movie.
  4. Kashibai son raghunath & Mastani son shamsher were not born at the same time as shown in the movie .
  5. Mastani delivery was actually done by Radhabai mother of Bajirao & not by bajirao in some different house as shown in the movie.
  6. In her whole life Mastani was never converted to Hindu & so when she died she was buried as per Muslims death rituals.
  7. Mastani died almost 1 year later after Bajirao’s death & not at the same time of bajirao's death as shown in the movie .
  8. She was never chained or put in any kind of prison . She was put under house arrest by Nanasaheb. There is a difference between a person tied to chain & house arrest.
  9. Mastani son shamsher bahadur was later raised by kashibhai in shaniwarvada . Shamsher bahadur fought for Marathas & unfortunately died in the main battle of panipat. He was very young then may be 22.
  10. Kashibai & Mastani in reality have met only once. So there was no way of both dancing together on pinga.
  11. The end of the movie was horrible while taking over liberty the director has shown that bajirao died crazily in thinking of Mastani. In fact Mastani was there with him at the time of his death . He died because of heavy fever in a battle camp near Indore. Bottom line is some liberty under the name of entertainment is accepted but not so much were you insult our heroes & distort our history.
