Hehe. :-)

Time is (of course) an illusion. There is only Now. Enlightenment is not an event that takes place in ‘time’ to an ‘individual.’ Yet this is the most time-specific, time-bound request for this illusory cause-&-effect of ‘attaining Enlightenment’ I’ve ever seen. The false “you” that thinks “you” can cause enlightenment through any efforts of “your’ own, with the right plan and over the right amount of ‘time,’ is exactly what must die for Enlightenment to dawn, or more accurately, for the realization that You, The True You, were always already enlightened.

So here’s the ideal ‘plan,’ clarified by Jean Klein, a realized Master. Warning: If you do exactly as he says, and if you are ready, Enlightenment will not be revealed in 4 years of 1-hour practices. It will take no time at all:

“See the purposelessness of thought. (Your request to have a time-bound, cause-&-effect plan for attaining ‘enlightenment’ is nothing but a bunch of thoughts.)

Sit in silence, and simply watch, witness these thoughts. Don’t respond or react to them. Just watch. Simply listen and wait till each thought comes to bankruptcy (as all thoughts do.)

Understand that there is really nothing to attain.

The moment you are completely & utterly convinced of this, there is a halt. All energy previously expended towards some end returns to its origin, and you are brought back to your presence, to the realization that You (pure Awareness, pure Being) are that origin.”

You’re done! With 3 years & 364 days of ‘no-time’ to spare. :-)
