It was getting near the end of the day and a female colleague in another department of the Lab rang me up and asked me for help - I needed to go down to “our room” which was where we slept when we were on duty overnight or at weekends.

So I went down and she was going out for the evening with her partner and so she just wanted help to finish zipping up the back of her dress - a bit unexpected as we didn’t really have a great deal to do with each other.

She told me that she had asked me to go down as she could trust me just to do as she had asked! It was odd - as a Christian I felt pleased that she understood that I wouldn’t do anything to her on principle - on the other hand, just a little bit of me felt odd that she didn’t expect anything from me.

We really are odd aren’t we - never satisfied?!
