McDonalds uses three types of eggs. None of which are powdered.
Folded eggs. These eggs are pre-cooked made from real scrambled chicken eggs pre-cooked off site and flash frozen to be thawed out overnight at your local McDonald’s and warmed up by your McDonald’s staff on the grill. They are used in McGriddles, biscuits, and bagel sandwiches.
The second type we call round eggs.
Non McDonald’s employees probably just call them eggs.
These eggs are cooked on the grill in a ring with the yolks broken. This creates a firm eggwhite and a nice gelled yolk. These types of eggs are typically served on McMuffin breakfast sandwiches, but can be substituted on any sandwich without charge.
They look like this after being cooked.
The third and final kind of eggs served at McDonald’s is liquid eggs. It’s a scrambled egg and milk mixture.
Similar to this. although this is old type packaging.
It is poured onto a Teflon-covered grill inside a rectangular device and then constantly moved to the center to create scrambled eggs. These are served on the Big Breakfast type breakfast plates, and look like this…
Ahhh. I almost forgot McDonald’s egg whites … they are identical to the liquid eggs except they come in a green container same deal. These go on egg white delights.
I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions or old wives’ tales out there.
