This question shows our human ego’s continued “We are the Crown of Creation” arrogance.

Speaking in terms of “time,” the time since the Universe began, humans have been here for less than 1 second. If you plotted all of time on a 24-hour clock, we arrived at 23:59:59, with a strong likelihood the human experiment will end before the stroke of 12 midnight.

That means this Universe, Reality and Life Itself did just fine without us, thank you very much, for its entire existence, and will certainly continue to do so if This Everything deems it. Life Itself will determine it, not “us” and what “we” think needs to be done.

Yet humans assign this tremendous amount of false importance to our race and our ‘spiritual evolution,’ either for our own personal ‘enlightenment,’ or for the human ‘evolution’ supposedly ‘necessary’ to save the planet.

It’s just our egos, and it’s nonsense. The same kind of ego nonsense as “We are ‘separate individuals,’ separate from the One and need to commitedly do our spiritual practices to ‘get enlightened’ to Oneness or Unification.” Just more ego-delusion.

‘Spiritual Awakening’ is absolutely not necessary for any seemingly-separate “person,” in the modern world, the ancient world, or any other world.

And that’s good, because “persons” doing their ‘spiritual awakening’ is not even whats happening here. Reality, Life Itself, just Is, and is just unfolding spontaneously. ‘Spiritual Awakening’ and ‘Enlightenment’ are just human-ego concepts. There is nothing out of order in Reality, or else it could no longer be called the One Reality - it would have to be the Reality plus all the things that are not part of the Reality and “don’t belong here.” If it is the true, full Reality, that’s just not possible; nothing could exist outside of It.

So whether you or I or any other modern-world illusory ‘separate beings’ have a spiritual awakening or not is not important and, in the truest sense, not even real.

If you feel called, as someone like, say, the Buddha did, to investigate the True Reality of Life and Self at the deepest levels, and, as a result, ‘awaken’ to your True Nature, go for it, fully committed, and enjoy “your” unfolding.

But have no delusions “your own” ‘personal enlightenment’ has anything to do with saving the world, saving yourself, or ‘liberating all sentient beings.’ If you truly do awaken fully, the first thing you will see is that that is not your job, because there is no “you,” and never was. It’s Life’s job. It’s just Reality Being.

If you think you ‘reached enlightenment,’ and still feel everyone in the world needs to have a spiritual awakening, and your own awakening will set an example and help others ‘reach’ that, you’re not enlightened…not yet. Still a long way to go. :-)
