Yes, I sure do, although with some limits.
Normally I will purchase shirts, and sweaters especially. I have found some pretty nice items over the years, even a few 100% Cashmere. Of all the places I shopped, I had the best luck for finds at my local Salvation Army Boutique, but that closed some years ago now.
These days I mostly go to St. Vincent du Paul thrift store. It’s hit and miss. One thing that I know that thrift stores do now is that they’ll often price items based on their original price online. Many times these days I see used beat up items priced higher than any would consider paying for anything in such condition. Other stores will sell their best items online or the managers will simply keep things too. Its hard these days to make the awesome find that most people are looking for.
As far as clothing goes, there is always a lot more women’s clothing than men’s items. There always seem be many shirts, but never many pants. Shoes are another item that I’ve never purchased and I probably wouldn’t unless they were some very nice pair that someone just didn’t want.
It may be that I need to keep looking for a better thrift store. I like being loyal to my regular charity, but one other thing I know that’s true is that what a shop will carry often times depends on where it is located. Some shops get better donations than others. It can be hard to find the best places.
