This is a good question, and I do try to not only pick particular days, but also what time of day to shop.

The best “bargain” days in our city seems to be on Fridays. The store has usually finished stocking the freshest of products, and the availability of items is plentiful. Friday is also the day the store may offer a one-day super special on one or two particular items, and they usually were items I need.

When I worked, I resented the ‘Friday’ deals because I couldn’t participate. I was not going to shop at 5:00 a.m nor at 5:00 p.m. before or after work.

I never, ever shop after work, as many people pick up dinner at the deli on their way home. Parking and checkout lanes are long.

In any case, when I worked I missed out on some bargains. So, Saturday mornings before 9:00 a.m. was the next best day for me to shop.

Why so early? Less people in the isles and freedom to move about without blocking other shoppers, or being blocked by them, when reviewing ingredient lists or calculating comparisons on value and price.

I don’t actively work now, so shopping on Friday early in the morning, works better for me.

In my opinion, Thursday is the next best shopping day for fresh produce and available items.
