I was vegetarian for 3 years. Everything was great until the middle of the second year, where everything went downhill. I’d like also to point out that I have heart problems from birth and my health will always be more important in my head than anything else.

I went vegetarian because of health reasons at first, ironically but then I realized slowly I was completly wrong about that. I’d say though it had some good effects because it taught me how to cook and how to use spice and that’s probably the only good thing that I’ve learn from my vegetarianism journey. Like, I said I was fine at first, but little by little, I got tired, my stomach was constantly bloating (that’s also why I hate beans now ^^', I ate too much of them obviously XD).

I tried every supplements every stuff (not because of the animals but because I didn’t like being wrong, in all honesty), but it didn’t work, so I’m eating meat again.

I’m still not a fan of red meat, so I don’t eat it often, I will mostly eat poultry, fish and eggs. My health is perfect now, my vitamin D is back to normal (I had low vitamin D when I went vegetarian, even with supplements). I realize most vegans/vegetarians do it for ethical reason, but that was never my case. I also don’t understand extremists, like you pride yourself not to eat animals but you eat B12 supplements, dude, get over yourself ! Anyhow, best decision I’ve ever made, I’m thriving and I eat everything but in moderation (because that’s the real key to being healthy ^^). I don’t consider myself a flexitarian though, because I think I’m just eating normally =)

Edit : I also like to add a second benefit I’ve learned from being vegetarian, was discovering almond milk, because I can’t digest cow milk and I still drink almond milk, even now (I forgot about this one sorry ^^')
