Hello,

In SSC Stenographer exam, we target the speed of 80 wpm (for Grade D) and/or 100 wpm (for Grade C). If you are asking this question, it implies that you are either at the beginning stage of learning or have gained some experience in Shorthand but struggling to increase speed.

In either of the cases, let me tell you that the most important thing you have to spare with Shorthand learning is PATIENCE. Believe me , it will come, but it will come with certain amount of perseverance and time.

First and foremost, try to make the outlines correct. Even if you are slow at it, do ensure that whatever outlines you are making are smooth and legible to you. Then comes the factor of speed.

In the initial days, you better try to do the same passage at difference speeds. For instance, try to do the same passage at 45wpm, 55wpm, 65 wpm etc. Then repeat this with the other passage the other day.

Follow this practice, and after giving it a certain amount of time, you will find yourself more smooth and fast with your writing.

All the best!!
