Judaism was a massively proselytizing religion during the Greco-Roman period and before just as Christianity, which initially was a religion confined to Judea Province, became during the Roman Imperial period. Christianity spread out from Judea Province mostly through the paths that Biblical Judaism had previously used. Christianity, which was initially a sect of Biblical Judaism, started by parasitizing the proselytization of Judaism and surpassed Judaism first in Palestine and then throughout the Roman world mostly because the leaders of Judaism almost completely wrecked Judaism for the population of Judea Province. (In addition, Christianity, which absorbed many pagan ideas, seems to have been more comfortable with the euergetism that sustained the Roman Empire than Biblical Judaism was.)
Maniac Bar Kochba, who persecuted the Judean peasantry (90% of the Judean population) during his rebellion, and his lackey Tannaim like Rabbi Akiba completely discredited Biblical Judaism in Palestine. The peasantry rapidly converted to Christianity.

Rabbinic Judaism is a religion of Mesopotamia and not a religion of Palestine. The primary scripture of Rabbinic Judaism is the Babylonian (Mesopotamian) Talmud. Rabbinic Judaism uses the Mesopotamian calendar and not the Palestinian calendar of the Bible. Synagogue ritual is Mesopotamian. The Palestinian ritual ceased to be used as the last Jews of Judean or Galilean ancestry converted to Islam. Rabbinic Judaism is the youngest Abrahamic religion and diverges the most from the Biblical core.
It must be emphasized that the inhabitants of Roman Judea province were Judeans and not Jews.
For example, Jesus was not a Jew in any modern sense. He practiced Biblical Judaism. He never heard of the Oral Law, which is a complete fabrication from a period after Jesus' death. Neither Philo of Alexandria nor Josephus nor the New Testament ever heard of the Oral Law. Jesus never read the Mishnah. He never saw a Talmud or any of the Judaic literature written after the destruction of the Jerusalem Temple. Jesus did not regulate his life by a halakhic code (Code of Rabbinic Jewish Law). Modern observant Jews live according to one of three such codes:
- that (מִשְׁנֵה תּוֹרָה) of the RAMBAM (רמב״ם),
- that (שולחן ערוך) of the HaMehaber (הַמְחַבֵּר), or
- that (השולחן הערוך עם המפה) of the REMA (רמ״א).
Each of these codes was created more than a millennium after the death of Jesus.
Jesus was a Galilean subject of Herod Antipas, who was a Judaic king. Herod Antipas was not a native Judean king because his ancestry was Arabized Idumean, Samarian, and Nabatean Arab. Herod Antipas had no native Judean ancestry whatsoever.
If Jesus were to return today, he would have to convert to Rabbinic Judaism to become Jewish. Because Jesus is Palestinian, the Israeli Rabbinate would not accept him for conversion because Zionists consider Palestinians to be subhuman vermin incapable of becoming true humans by conversion to Judaism.
It is important to understand how Nazi the mentality of a Zionist is. Calling Jesus a Jew differs in no way from calling Jesus an Aryan. There were three separate Judaic populations in the Greco-Roman period.
The Hellenistic Judaism of the Occidental Roman Empire was Greek-language based and used the Septuagint or later Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible for its Holy Scripture. Only descendants of non-Judean converts practiced Greek-language Judaism. This Judaism was also practiced in Alexandria among Greek speakers. European Judaism was Hellenistic and ignorant of Hebrew or Aramaic until approximately 850 CE when merchants that practiced Mesopotamian Judaism established a seminary in Venosa, Italy.
Palestinian and Phoenician Canaanite/Hebrew-language-based Judaism was practiced among Phoenician and Palestinian Canaanite/Hebrew speakers including those that lived in Alexandria, Carthage, and other Phoenician colonies in N. Africa. The Palestinian population, which practiced Biblical Judaism, converted entirely to Christianity and then later in large part to Islam. Greco-Roman Judeans are the ancestors of modern Palestinians and not of Rabbinic Jews, who are the ancestors of vicious and disgusting Zionist anti-Jews.
Aramaic-language-based Judaism was practiced in Mesopotamia/Babylonia. It was initially an Aramaic-language version of Zoroastrianism but adopted the Hebrew Bible in the early Hellenistic period. This community created Rabbinic Judaism.
Scholars have begun to piece this history together in the last 70 years.
