Pros

1. Munich is home to some of the top notch universities in the world like Technical University of Munich (TUM), Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU). So, the overall quality of education and research is excellent.
2. Munich is probably one of the most beautiful cities around the world. You'll find beautiful Bavarian Architecture, picturesque parks and Beer gardens all around the city. Ofcourse, we have The Englischer Garten, probably one of the coolest places to spend our summer holidays!
3. It's one of the safest places with very low crime rate. You can roam around the streets even at 3 am without even having a slightest fear or doubt in your minds.
4. The city is very well connected. The Public Transportation is very accessible, comfortable, safe and well spreadout throughout the city. It has a good infrastructure for active mobility (cycling, walking). So, if you feel like leaving less carbon foot prints, then definitely you are in the right place ;)!
5. Beers! Beers! Beers! Munich has one of the oldest and best breweries in Germany and the beer is unbelievably good ! Though I was not a big beer fan previously, but not to say that Munich changed my perception.
6. If someone is interested in Sports, Adventure, then there are plenty of options. Being a student, gives you plenty of opportunities for sports, fitness in various clubs/academies at very subsidised rates. And if you are a hiking/trekking enthusiast, you have the Alps and forests all around to satiate your thirst!

PS. This is not an exhaustive list, there are countless good things about Munich. I mentioned some of the very basic ones. If one is interested in Music, literature, Arts then Munich has plenty of options to explore too.

Cons:

1. Housing is extremely expensive and difficult to find. And if you are a non German speaker, then your chances get dimmer.
2. Winters are very melancholic here. Munich becomes a dead city in Winter and at times it gets depressing.
