I was living in an apartment that was in the back part of the building, the last apartment on the left, and right outside my apartment was the back porch of the building.

A couple of young adults/grown-ass kids moved in (a male & female couple in their late teens/early twenties), and from the moment they arrived it was nothing but loud noise, and crowds of people. Before they moved in it was nothing but peace & quiet, which is something I value.

I have social anxiety disorder, awkward/difficult social situations terrify me, and stress me out. I don't like talking to strangers. I don't make new friends very easily. But as long as you respect my peace, quiet, and solitude I am not mean neighbor. I'm just not a very social one.

One afternoon, the young couple had a bunch of their friends over to hangout on the back porch, but this time they were being extra loud & obnoxious (more so than usual). I gathered the courage to approach them, and kindly yet firmly ask them if they could keep the noise down. They apologized and said they'll keep it down, but then started back up again soon after I left.

So, I decided to make a mix cd of annoying songs (The Happy Happy Joy Joy song by Ren & Stimpy, and The Duck Song that has over 7 versions) that I found on YouTube, and I used a music program to layer those songs with random, ear-piercing sounds, as well as tones that would induce headache, nausea, etc.

I popped the cd into my tower stereo, and put my huge box speakers near my living room window that lead to the back porch where my annoying neighbors were hanging out, I played the cd and cranked the volume up half way.

They stayed for what seemed like another 10 - 15 minutes, they were laughing their ass off at my antics, and thought I was playing, so I cranked up the volume to 75% (the window pane shook), and then they left immediately.

The next day, my landlord came at me with a noise complaint. Those f*cking kids had the nerve to tell the landlord on me, when they were being loud first. He was like…. “What’s going on? I never get any noise complaints from you.” I explained what happened and he was like… “Oh okay, they get a strike then.” My landlord had a 3 strike system for problematic tenants, 3 strikes and they’re out on their ass.

I edited my answer, because apparently people seem to think that I didn't ask them to quiet down first. I did do that, I just originally skipped that part of the story, my bad. Some also thought I harassed some little kids. No, they were adults! They were fresh into adulthood, but they were still adults who should know better than to be noisy neighbors. So I edited that part to make it thoroughly clear as well.
