This incident happened when I was 13. It was the April of 2009 and it was my dear cousin's (bridegroom) marriage.

All of them wanted to fool the groom as it was April and everyone including the bride and the Pandit cooked up a plan.

As normal was the wedding up until then with a group of uncles chitchatting about the politics and stuff, a bunch of aunties talking about jewellery, kids playing around and a group of male teens and groom's friends checking out the girls and vice versa, it became a stage for a frightening drama to the groom later.

Everything was fixed up as it was and according to the plan, the Pandit called in the bride few minutes earlier saying that the Muhurt has been changed due to some unavoidable circumstances which followed by giggling of people nearby and chuckling of the kids who were the audience in this play. Luckily, the groom, who had no idea what was going on and who already was on cold feet didn't care about it much and was waiting for the bride to come over.

The bride came and as the tradition says the groom shouldn't see the bride until "jeelakarra bellam" (a tradition which you can google) and as the groom was about to put it on her canopy, they removed the cloth in between and the groom was obviously surprised and alarmed to see another girl sitting there.

The reaction on his face... One should actually see him shouting.. "What the hell?!" Luckily we all have the images and video of his screaming and guess what?! They put that reaction even in their wedding album. Bwahaha!

Later, everyone explained him what actually happened and he was like.. -_- I'm already on cold feet and you do this?!
And the actual marriage had been done.

Somehow everyone in the wedding was entertained and it was a play that he would remember forever.

Thanks for the A2A.
