I had never used Uber services till I went to US. In San Jose while I stayed, I took quite a few Uber rides. I was surprised to see that they offer you snacks, candies, chocolate, water bottle and have beer/soft drink cans in car. I was super happy to see such facilities being given to riders. At that time I wondered if such facilities were made available in India as well, by Uber drivers. However I came back in around 2 months. Just next day after my arrival, I wanted to see my dear friend. I thought of taking out my bike but then I thought let's try Uber here. So I fired up my phone, punched in destination and bamm the cab arrived in no time. The moment I opened the car gate and took the seat, I was shocked. The driver had a small water bottles, frooti (an Indian Mango fruit juice drink), Appy Fizz (another apple fruit juice) tetrapack and biscuits. He offered them to me and was very nice and polite. I humbly refused but had biscuits. Out of curiosity I asked him if such facilities were normal in all the cab services. He told me that, that's not true. He went on to speak to me and told that when he was in US, he had seen Uber drivers giving such services there. So when he returned to India and took Uber to earn his livelihood, he introduced such things in his cab at least. I asked him what he gets, out of providing such amenities to riders. He politely told “Sir, a lot many times the riders are stressed out and panicked up, for reasons that I don't know. By just Offering them some water, juice or snacks, it helps them to lighten their mood maybe by fraction. So when they reach their destination, they are not as stressful when they started their ride.”

I was simply blown away by the simple gesture of that driver. For that week almost, I pondered over that simple thought of the driver who wanted to change the world little bit by his own small efforts. He was the best Uber driver I had and the best cab ride till date.
