no. but if you turn up to an interview at a donut shop wearing this, you might look a bit of a clown.
but generally, never turn up too casual for an interview. when in doubt, wear the suit and tie. you will never blow the interview because you wore a suit. but you might blow it if you are too casual.
i once wore a cap - a new one - to an interview because it was pouring rain outside and i had just straightened my hair with chemicals and couldn’t get my hair wet for 3 days, and i had told the interviewer this and apologised at the start of the interview, and she had smiled and made out that it was fine. she had even chatted to me about hair treatments, so I believed that she was OK with it.
i then had a rejection email a few days later. i asked for feedback. and guess what. she mentioned the effing cap. and the job was a casual type job.
and yeah, my first thought was “you lying b*tch”. but the harsh truth was that it was my bad for having worn the effing cap.
