Which Bible verses prove that there is no Holy Trinity?
Comment from Elie Enate: Are you not puzzled that the believers if Jesus is Children of God and Jesus is also Son of God? Jesus is the Only Son of God He is not Just Son of God. If Jesus is not God how can He held all things in His hand, Col. 1:17–18?
Guy’s Response: Some excellent points you bring up here.
“Are you not puzzled that the believers if Jesus is Children of God and Jesus is also Son of God?”
This mystery is revealed here.
Romans 8:14-15 (KJV) -
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
We can absolutely be sons and daughters of God but then what is the difference between us and Jesus?
Jesus is the Only Son of God He is not Just Son of God.
That answer is found here and in numerous other places within the Bible.
John 3:16 (KJV) - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Yes, Jesus is God’s Son else Jesus sent Himself and the love of God becomes questionable.
But Jesus is not only God’s Son, He is God’s only Son.
Wait!
Wouldn’t that be a contradiction in the Bible?
It would.
Minus one word.
Begotten.
See - Jesus is God’s only BEGOTTEN Son while we are adopted into the family by the price Jesus paid for our lives.
Hebrews 2:14-15 (KJV) -
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
This brings us to your final point.
If Jesus is not God how can He held all things in His hand, Col. 1:17–18?
Let’s break this down.
First, can you show me just one verse where Jesus clearly identifies Himself as God?
John 20:17 (KJV) - Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
Notice the words:
- My Father
- My God
Is Jesus telling Mary not to touch Him because He has not yet gone to Himself? That seems more than a bit awkward.
how can He held all things in His hand, Col. 1:17–18?
Here are your verses.
Colossians 1:17-18 (KJV) -
17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
How does Jesus get this preeminence?
John 3:35 (KJV) - The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
Because His Father gave them to Him.
Please read:
John 10:29 (KJV) - My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
Given that Jesus Himself would be defined as part of all, here He is clearly establishing that the Father is greater than the Son.
Are we to think that Jesus is greater than Himself?
As the verses above have clearly pointed out - Jesus has all things because the Father gave them to Him.
The Father is the source that everything flows to and from.
The Son is the channel through which that flowing takes place.
John 14:6
(KJV) - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Does that help clear up your questions on this topic?
