“It takes two to tangle”- they say. So I'll write about my past experience with this other person (a flatmate), even if it was a while ago…..….

I just moved into the flat with absolutely nothing. I suggested to her that we could get some kitchen appliances, decorate the living-room, and make the apartment ‘livable’. Her response was “I don't need any of those things apart from a microwave oven to make food”. We both contributed to purchase a microwave oven, and I personally bought other kitchen items for my own comfort.

I was away from the house for some couple of days, and on my return I noticed the microwave oven had burned down. When I ask her what happened, she said “ that's what happened to cheap appliances “. I was disappointed at her attitude and lack of care. I waited for almost a month hoping she might suggest something for a replacement or repair but nothing at all. Yet, she could spend her money on gambling. So, I went out to purchase another microwave oven of same brand.

I returned home one day, and I noticed the oven had some food smell I wasn't familiar with. When I asked her, she completely denied using it. Calmly I said to her, I am not stopping you from using any of these things, but be aware that if any of them gets bad like you did to the microwave oven, I'll make you replace them. She practically never dare to use any of my appliances. And I had those items for over two years without having to replace them.
