John Cate and Feifei Wang.

John because of his legendary piece of writing titled “A new name for Quora?” that he posted on Medium. Short story: a while ago, some *&)*&^ at Quora Inc. started to delete answers. Not flag or collapse them, no! They were gone forever! One day, they let one of John’s answers disappear and this turned out to be a big mistake.

John has a friend who was banned from Quora who referred to this Q&A site as “Whora”. In his Medium post John stated:

They did something to me today that certainly lives up to that name, although I’m reluctant to even say that, because $20 hookers are more honest than this.

Someone shared his post on Wh…. oups Quora and it got a large number of shares and views. His answer was, of course, undeleted.

It could have gone the other way for John and Quora might have banned him but he didn't care. Principles, my friends!

Feifei did something similar, although more in the “Feifei way”. After she got harassed by anonymous users endless times, she decided to post screenshots of the anonymous posts that were attacking her.

This brought her into trouble with a Quora moderation team member who told her that posting these screenshots was a BNBR rule violation (more so than posting the original harassing content, it seems). After a while, her patience was gone and she basically told Quora moderation to f…. off.

Again, to make a long story short, Feifei Wang is still here and she’s kicking! Addressing Quora moderation with profane language is as risky as comparing them to prostitutes. It takes cojones.

In addition to this, there’s probably no other Quora user who had to take in more hate and insults than her. She was also banned once and edit-banned multiple times, but she never gave up. A true survivor!

Just compare these two Quorans to all these guys with “80,000 combat tours”, “Fifty times Top Writer”, “Hot stepsister of Quora” or other similar credentials. Never a critique about this site. Not even a tiny peep! Instead, they go like:

“My dear fans! I just spoke to my friend Jonathan/Jack/Ernie from the Quora community team to tell them that this and that user must be banned. How can they allow these people on our platform?”

Unlike the brown-nosers, Feifei and John stood up for themselves and with it, they stood up for all of us. They didn't give a crap about the consequences and showed spine.

Badass.
