This is an acid base reaction that results in the equation

3CaCO3 + 2C6H8O7 → Ca3(C6H5O7)2 + 6H+ + 3 CO3-

The hydrogen will find the carbonate and create carbonic acid, which is so weak it dissociated to CO2 and H2O

H2CO3 → CO2 + H2O

So yes, it's an acid base reaction, and yes there are 2 reactions occurring here

Fully balanced equation

3CaCO3 + 2H3C6H5O7 → Ca3(C6H5O7)2 + 3H2O + 3 CO2
