I live in Germany. In the last 2 decades there has been an ever increasing influx of English into daily spoken as well as written German.

To be seen as suitably cosmopolitan some businesses think it worth their while to take a German word and plop it together with an English word, which of course very often leads to a German-English composite of the… indesirable variety.

In German “Bad” simply means “bath”, “bathroom” or “spa”. The proprietors of a bathroom fittings, supply and design centre decided to combine a couple of words in 2 metre high letters on the top of their building to let their customers know this is where they could come for their very own “Bad Design”.

I should add, maybe people got the (unintended) message because the business has since closed down.
