Ghost Rider is as powerful as superheroes come.
He’s just vastly underrated. See the 15 Superpowers You Didn't Know Ghost Rider Had as proof.
Or take a look into the beautiful CGI abs of Nicolas Cage from the first Ghost Rider movie.
Look at how ripped those fake abs make Nicolas Cage appear! (And how unnaturally they move!) Now that’s power.
But all Cage-isms aside….
Since the Spirit Vengance is an ethereal entity, it’s powers are pretty much boundless. The thing about the Ghost Rider, that several here have touched on, is that the very nature of the character prevents him from ever displaying his full capabilities.
When Johnny Blaze went up against World War Hulk, Dr. Strange comments the abilities of the Ghost Rider are “godlike” and the only reason the character doesn’t wield its full force is because their human hosts act as a built-in safety check. This means that the Ghost Rider actually possesses infinite strength.
We get a brief glimpse of this after Hulk apparently knocks Ghost Rider out cold.
When fully unleashed, a Rider can lift well over 100 tons with ease, obtaining Thor and Hulkian levels of strength. And make his eyes sparkle menacingly like this…
And then go hella nova and trigger an atomic sized explosion.
When the Jade Giant seemingly defeated the Ghost Rider all he really did was knock out his human host, Johnny Blaze. The other worldly spirit known as Zarathos was still very much prescient and takes over with the explosive results we see above.
After experiencing something like that, World War Hulk just says, “F**k it,” and lets Ghost Rider go because he knows that that’s one being he cannot smash.
And if the Hulk realizes it’s pointless to face an unleashed Ghost Rider, safe to say no one should.
Of course, it’s unlikely we’ll ever see any Ghost Rider put their power on full display.
Which is probably for the best, since giving Nicolas Cage the ability to punch a hole through the planet is in no one’s best interests.
