We were shopping together in an Asian foods store. My son overheard comments in Korean by others in the store who assumed we wouldn't understand the language. I didn't, and I still don't know what was said, but my son quickly put down his items from the shelf and ushered me out of the store. He wouldn't repeat what the people had said. I asked him why he didn't just reply in Korean and let them know he understood every word. His reply - “Well, mom, I didn't want to embarrass them.”
