Here’s the thing: Lana Del Rey majorly writes about old men, drugs and past love regrets. I’m a major fan of both of these artists, I know almost every song of them, and so I can tell it apart. Lana’s music is more mature than that of Billie’s, and that is but obvious, owing to the fact that she’s 35, and Billie is 17.
Billie’s music, on the other hand, includes past love regrets, and some common references of teenage situations. Her music does not have any reference to drugs or old men. Also, she has collaborated with artists like Khalid, which are, right now, on the pinnacle of pop music.
Lana’s music dates back to the ‘50s and ‘60s, and she has herself said, “I was not born in the ‘50s, but it feels like I live there.” Her music is somewhat very similar to Pink Floyd, and Frank Sinatra, that’s what most of the people say. So, nobody really has found something new in her songs.
Billie, on the other hand has brought new notes and tunes in her music. And, the fact that she’s just 17, that’s what makes more people amused.
That’s why, Billie is considered as the queen of alternative. Lana is my favourite artist ever, and I love her more than Billie.
But still, both of these artists have 100+ million views on YouTube, and a billion streams on Spotify. So, both of them are equally successful.
