Absolutely not. There is no pressure to go to any function as an adult, unless it’s peer pressure - but if you have good, reliable, genuine friends, then they should support you no matter what. Just make sure that not going is what you want to do.
While holding a grudge for decades only damages the grudge-holder, it is sometimes true that some acts - like bullying someone to the point of self-harm - are unforgivable and not going is perfectly reasonable.
I know that you’re probably sceptical about taking advice from a teenager, but trust me on this.
