The Paddle Steamer Mayakovsky capsized in Riga, Latvia in 1950. This killed at least 350 people. The capsizing was caused by a crowd control issue wherein people jumped from the enbankments she was mooring at (she was in the process of unloading passengers at the time) onto her upper deck, while others climbed the side of the ship.
A motorboats wake combined with the unruly crowd eventually caused her to capsize. Most people were killed when they tried climbing up the embankment only to be pulled under by others trying to do the same. The reason no one talks about it is because the Soviet Government unfortunately did a good cover up so it is now pretty obscure.
