Yes you can.
But why put this much strain on your System’s Hardware when there’s a simple way to achieve the same result.
Solution: Make a Image of the CD/DVD and mount it to a Virtual Drive
- Go to any System which has working CD/DVD drive.
- Put your CD/DVD inside the Reader.
- Run any imaging software like Daemon tools, PowerISO and select create a Image of CD/DVD option.
- Wait till the process completes. After completion you will get a Image (.iso) file of the CD/DVD. This Image file will be of same size (it may differ by some MB or KB) as of your CD/DVD.
- Now If you have Windows 8 & above, you can right click and select Mount option from the Menu. That will open the image file in same way as your CD/DVD Reader would have opened.
- If you are running Windows 7 or below then you need to create a Virtual drive using Daemon tools or PowerISO then mount the image file to that Virtual drive.
- Now just go ahead and launch the game, it will run without any issues.
Advantages:
Don’t need to always put CD/DVD inside the Reader. Saves the hardware.
You don’t need to buy external CD/DVD Reader.
Imaging is one time task and Image file can be transferred from one system to another.
Goodluck !!!
