My experience at Placewit was really amazing! It is not just a tech placement Bootcamp, it gives learnings for a lifetime. It helped me get placed at Amazon, which was my dream company from the beginning.

Initially, I did not have any interest in coding. I was guided by some friends to enroll in a course at a coding institute near my college. I took some online courses on DS and Algo. I learned the basics of coding, but when I started learning DS and Algo from that course, I wasn’t able to understand much from there. I did not complete that course. Whereas my friends in my class were solving tough problems on Codechef and Codeforces. Then I started Codeforces, but still, I was only able to think of the brute force solutions.

One day, I saw a post on Instagram regarding Placewit’s Placement Guarantee Program, so I decided to apply there. The selection process was very smooth. At my time, there was an entrance test on HackerEarth, and after that, there was a personal interview. As I wasn’t able to optimally solve many questions in this coding round, the interviewer asked me if I can work hard with them for the next 8 months? I was ready to give my 100%, as I just needed a proper path and guidance to get placed in a big tech giant.

From day 1 at Placewit, I was satisfied by the instructors and the way they taught us every topic. I got more interested in coding day by day. All the classes were live and interactive, where the instructors used to ask the students questions in between. And they were recorded also so that if anyone missed any class, he/she can watch the video later on.

I used to solve the questions on Placewit’s platform. They were a combination of Leetcode and GeeksForGeeks, structured properly with difficulty level and topic-wise. I used to enjoy solving questions daily.

After solving all the questions from Placewit, I was confident enough that I will get a good placement at my college. Initially, I used to solve questions on Placewit only. Later on, I used to solve questions on Codeforces also parallelly as my mentors guided me to do that. I used to solve questions with my friends every day after the Placewit classes. We used to discuss different approaches for solving a question. It saved a lot of time. Within 3-4 months of joining Placewit, I was confident enough about my coding skills. The only thing to work on then was my soft skills, projects, and mock interviews. The instructors and mentors took classes and mock interviews to help me in all these areas as well.

When the placement season started, I was able to solve all the coding questions but couldn’t get shortlisted just because my CGPA was not high enough. Within one month, I got shortlisted for Amazon, and I was able to crack the interview very smoothly because I felt confident and prepared at that time.

Some key points of my experience at Placewit:

  • My batch size was around 15-20 students. The personal attention was given to every student. I used to ask a lot of doubts in my class, but sir never got frustrated with that. He always cleared each and every doubt. If I still had any doubt after the class, I could ask it in the group or contact my teacher directly. Doubts were resolved asap.
  • I was very lucky that the instructor that I got, himself was placed at Amazon. His teaching skills were just amazing. He never left any student with a single doubt. He only started teaching the next topic, after the doubts were completed and every student was doubt-free. I remember recursion was my weak topic, but my sir taught that very well. He taught us visually how recursion actually works. He made our concepts crystal clear for all topics.
  • For interview preparation, we had regular mock interviews during the course and even after the classes were completed. We were given resources to study the core subjects, we were given proper guidance for interviews, how to approach a given question, what questions should we ask the interviewer, what if we get stuck somewhere. We were guided to face every kind of situation. Before the placement season, I was fully prepared for interviews. We got regular feedback after every mock interview. We were given an HR question to prepare for every mock interview. After the mock, we were guided on how to answer these HR questions, what points I can add to my answer.
  • There were interview experiences of various companies on the Placewit’s platform. They helped us a lot to prepare for specific companies, what kind of questions the companies are asking, and what to prepare for a specific company.
  • I felt demotivated sometimes when I wasn't able to solve as much as my friends were solving. My friend circle was very helpful during this phase. They used to call me whenever I wasn't solving many questions. We used to solve and practice questions on google meet so that if any doubt came up to me, there were my friends who were always available to solve it. Also, our mentors used to call us regularly to ask if everything is going fine or not, they used to ask if we have any problems or not, they were always there to motivate us.
  • Before joining Placewit, my confidence was 0% for coding and interviews. I thought I would be lucky enough if I get a placement at companies like TCS. After joining Placewit, I thought I can easily get placement worth 10-12 LPA, but I was sure that if I work harder here, the CTC has no bars then. Even without having a high CGPA, I was able to crack Amazon in the placement season within the first month, with a CTC of more than 30L.

I’ll recommend Placewit to anyone who wants perfect guidance and wants to get placed in top companies.
