A fuel temperature sensor senses the fuel’s temperature. The purpose is to find the volume of fuel that must be sent in so that the emissions and fuel economy are kept in control.

Density of hot fuel is less than that of cold fuel. Therefore depending on the temperature of the fuel the volume of the fuel to be injected will be decided in order to have the optimum efficiency.
