After 9/11 there was an iconic scene of 3 firefighters raising an American Flag.
They decided to make a statue of it.
Instead of using the firefighters as shown here, which happened to be 3 white men, they decided to remove 2 of the white men and add a Black and Latino, rewriting history with a more “acceptable” version of events.
Thankfully, the firefighters of NY stood up to this attempt and they went back to the drawing board.
