After my marriage was over, she wanted money.

As if it wasn’t enough that she had cheated on me for half a year, now she took the next steps in ruining my life.

For months she had bullied me, lied to me, ignored me, and handled me with the greatest disdain imaginable.

Now she wanted:

  • half of our money (which was logical, although part of it was given to us by my parents);
  • to sell our house for as much money as possible, knowing that I wanted to stay in our house (in that case, I was to pay her a fortune);
  • a lot of personal stuff, some of which was given to us by my parents;
  • to take our favorite pets with her;
  • to have the car;
  • me to keep my mouth shut, and not tell other people what she had done to me (erroneously, she was the one who quickly started to tell blunt lies about me in a pathetic try to conceal her own painfully malicious behavior).

The fight took about one further year, she moved in with her new boyfriend, and I became garbage in her new eyes.

In the months that followed, many of our common friends talked about her although that was not what I wanted: she was part of my former life, and I honestly wanted to be as far as possible from her existence.

One news item was kind of “karmatic” in some sense.

(Sometimes you never escape.)

She had a car accident with our car, and it was a total loss.

She was not hurt — only shook — but it made me smile because the car was on her mine-mine-mine list, and because she had become an aggressive driver under the influence of her new boy.

In some sense it also symbolized her change as a person: she was a very gentle and safe driver when we were an item, and she became this aggressive and impatient driver in her new life.

Since then, my life has changed so much that it sometimes feel as if I am living on another planet.

And that is just fine with me.
