Before I answer, show me this list of “appropriate dressing for your age", and the names of the developers of said list.

Then, explain to me in plain language why I should let complete strangers dictate how I should dress at any particular age. For all I know, they may be making “authoritative” statements based on how their own bodies look in certain styles. How biased is that?! Or perhaps they're working with clothing designers in order for designers to develop shaming tools for those who shun their clothing lines.

I've also noticed that there are more taboos placed on how a woman dresses than on how a man dresses. What's up with that?
