Yes! One such friend is actually now my husband.

Hubby and I met when we were 15 years old at summer camp. We hit it off so well - though he admittedly had a crush on my sister - we kept in touch for a year or so through letters. Eventually one of us stopped writing and that was that.

Cut to 10 years later, to the month, I was at my parents’ kitchen when I saw a note with his name on it. My mom mentioned that he was in town doing some work at my dad’s work. I decided to drop by and say hi, and it was love at first - or I guess second - sight! We began dating two weeks later and were married two years later!

Another childhood friend I ran into as adults was my best friend in middle school. While we did connect for a while early in college, we had lost touch while both living in FL as she got married and moved away. YEARS later - and I mean YEARS, as in over 20 years later - I received an invitation to take a group of girls from our youth group to a conference. When I reached out to find out more information, lo and behold it was my former best friend who was the contact person! We had a blast catching up during the conference and were able to stay in touch through FB.

I love running into old friends! It’s one of life’s little blessings :)
