1. Top loaders are easier to use and install, also in Brazil most houses don’t have an exclusive area for laundry, most people keep their washing machines on the garage or in a protected area in the yard that is usually filled with other stuff so to avoid getting water everywhere a top loader is more practical.

2. You don’t have to bend over and while this may look like a silly reason many houses here have at least 4–6 people living in them so its a lot of stuff to wash.

3. Its easier to regulate resources like water and cleaning products when you can see them and a top-loader makes it possible, besides being able to add clothing and products during any part of the process.

4. Most companies in Brazil only makes top-loaders so it plays a huge part in it. And at least in Brazil its cheaper than Front Loaders.

5. Culture plays a huge part, it’s very similar to a “Tanque de lavar roupas” that we had here to clean clothes so it was easier to adapt for the common folk at the time.
