I know someone that drove the car they were learning in, straight into a telegraph pole, no more than 5 seconds after starting. It was the very first thing they ever did behind the wheel of a car. Literally their very first drive.

This was their first ever drive and it was in their mother's car, with their mother teaching. Fortunately, no one was hurt. Just their ego.

Subsequent lessons were all done with a driving instructor, with no further incident.
