Career? My friend’s mom started a very successful company at 57. She quit her job in a major tech firm and decided that she wasn’t meant to work for anyone. And you know what? The company she started was in a completely different industry than her previous 20+ years of experience.

Relationship? A good friend of mine is 47, she is gorgeous, and takes good care of herself. She got divorced two years back and men are literally lining up for a chance to date her. I know girls in their early 20s who are desperate for half of the attention that she gets. And, she was proposed to twice since her divorce.

Education? My cousin got an MBA after his engineering degree and he can’t find a decent job now because he is overqualified. Recruiters will always find excuses why you’re not good enough. Then again, my ex partner is a college-dropout. He created his own career track by starting his own company. He is the most perseverant person I know. Despite all the failures, he never gave up and he now owns one of the most rapidly-growing startups in California.

As long as you’re alive, you have millions of opportunities. Just don’t let society dictate what milestones you should reach by what age. You decide to create your unique story, do you want this story to be full of complaining, regretting and feeling like a failure? It’s your call.
