GitHub is not a place for a beginner to start programming. Beginners should not worry about complex syntax or complex commands. They should simply try to understand how to code (The logic to solve a coding problem) or understands others' code.
Beginner should start with simple language like C, Python or JavaScript to start programming with easy problems without worrying about any version control systems. There are many tutorials available on the internet which teach programming (e.g., Codecademy: Learn to code).
P.S.: GitHub is a version control system which is used to make softwares with ease.
