There seems to be a consensus that dirty, worn, broken-in Converse look better than brand new ones. Perhaps it’s the same sort of thinking behind torn jeans. Many say an old pair has many stories to tell, figuratively speaking. A nice style of shoe—such as Converse—looks good new or worn. Personally, I prefer Converse to be slightly dirty and worn-in but not completely torn and tattered.
