ALL “beauty” regimes are a waste of time and money. They serve as a bottomless money pit that can be better put to use on vacations, furthering education, savings and investment vehicles, and many other activities. Women don’t have enough money to spend as it is without sinking it into disgusting practices like “manicures” and “pedicures.” You are paying other people to do absolutely sickening things that should be done in the privacy of the home. I am convinced women are brainwashed into “beauty” as a distraction, as a diversion to prevent them from taking an interest in the world outside the narrow confines most women still live. Manicures and the disgusting long nails, whether real or fake, and make me physically ill to see, are like high heels designed to limit women’s movement. Not a good thing at all. I won’t touch upon the exploitation factor of often immigrant women who work in these spas.
