Absolutely not.

Of course, there are people who are simply not made for working from home - they need a stressful (and challenging) office environment to keep them moving.

I, on the contrary, hate the feeling of being supervised, always did. And office distractions? Even kids’ screams can not compare with those endless (and pointless) meetings, small talk with co-workers, a word with a manager, “may I ask you smth” and so on and so forth.

Here are my thoughts on how to be efficient while working from home:

6 Basic Rules on How to Manage your time EFFICIENTLY when Working from Home

This is not a complete list; more of a basic approach.

The main difficulties for those who only start working from home:

  • they lack concentration, can’t focus on a job, keep distracting. Rule #1 from the above video helps to get over it. Create a working space where you would not feel yourself “at home”!
  • they end up working less (Rule #1 & 2 from the video, having a workplace and dressing for the work would motivate you to work more. If you love your job? You won’t be having much difficulties here. However you can fall into another trap):
  • overworking - like you never leave your office - end up working all the time. Put strict boundaries and that one is solved.
  • their homies have difficulties to understand that they are actually working and not just staying at home

Etc etc. However all of those could be easily overcome. For me? Work at home job has been the best career move/decision I’ve made so far.
