In Vedic astrology the term separation is studied from two point of view i.e mental separation and the other is physical separation.

Lets understand each step by step.

In MENTAL SEPARATION the native can live together under same shade but mentally apart and so there doesn’t exist a healthy relationship.

There also can be mental as well as physical separation where the native doesn’t live together as well as mentally completely detached.

In PHYSICAL SEPARATION the native live apart and that could be due to divorce or due abandonment because of their personal reasons.

Here I have not counted death as separation, although it is also a kind of separation, but separation being alive is considered for discussion.

In Vedic astrology understanding mental state of separation is studied from chandra kundli / moon ascendant and the physical separation is studied from lagna kundli / ascendant.

There are some temporary kinds of separation which is not at all a negative kind. Here the native gets separated due to his job for which he has to leave his family and stay far away from his / her family.

Here there is physical separation but with mental bonding.

The separation has to studied from the horoscope as per the relation signified by the houses and the impact need to be studied from the ruling mahadasha periods.
