I lived as a nomadic horse woman in the Himalaya. Following the yearly cycle of Khampa nomads. Didn't own a mirror for three of the seven years. Lived in tarpaulin pitched like "tents" for most of the year. Worked with pack ponies for treks and high altitude trekking guide in summers, ferried construction materials on horses in winter, where half the load on each horse was more than my weight and I slept 5 hours a night. Always broke, mostly contented. Longest I walked at a stretch was 72 hours. Followed by 46 hours - both emergencies.
Most people think I'm telling tall tales. I'm a fat housewife now.
